any girls plan on just polishing your own nails? i'm talking no tips...no wraps, no nothing....just your straight up nail.
i havent had nails in yearrrrsss..i hate them and i dont want to put them in because then i have to keep them for our HM also.
im just afraid the polish might chip if its just on my nail.
anyone keeping their own or past brides...if you did this..how did it hold up?

all natural for me! i don't like fake nails (i'm clumsy and they would get in the way)

I will be using my own nails...I usually get them polished so that I don't pick at them and they actually grow pretty fast that way. I'll probably start a month before.

I've never had tips in my life, and don't plan to for my wedding. I use this 4 in one stuff by Sally Hansen which makes my nails sooo strong, and when I use it as a top coat, helps my manicure stay for 2 weeks. So, I'll just do natural with a french manicure.

this is good question...as i become older i feel like natural nails are more elegant, but i love the way permant french tips look..im also torn

ill have my natural nails-i had tips once, and hated it... i get manicures every week, and i plan on getting one late the day before the wedding

I just had a manicure and my nails looked good. They held up until the end of the first week of our HM. I cracked a nail the morning I was getting my nails done and they were able to fix it with a little glue and filler.

I had planned on just having my own nails. They are normally long and nice. However right before the wedding I had been traveling a lot for work and all the dry air got to them and they broke and were horrible. So I ended up get wraps the day before. They looked nice. Held up through the honeymoon and then when we got back I took them off!

I am keeping my own, just go a couple of weeks in a row for manicures leading upto the wedding and than the day before get them done... your nails and hands will look great!

I have played violin my whole life and have never had nails. I cut them once a week. My mom tried to get me to grow them or get tips but I literally cannot function with nails of any sort, so I didn't. I got a nice french mani and I thought they looked just fine.

I wish I could get away with out having tips on but my nails are so not cute from bitting them and on top of that my fingers are soooo short I call them umpa lumpa hands ahahaha.
Your mani should def hold up esp the day before or even the day of!

I just had my regular nails...tried hard not to break any nails in the weeks before my wedding. I'm not a fancy long nails girl and didn't want to be stuck with them for the honeymoon!

the last time i wore tips where for Sr. prom in 2000. i have extremely healthy nails & will be getting a manicure for the wedding.

I never have my nails professionally done, it kind of skeeves me. So I've never had tips or acrylics or wraps or anything like that, but I'm lucky because my nails are strong and grow long naturally. I bucked it up and went to the salon (with my own utensils) for a basic manicure the afternoon before my wedding, and it held up fine for the wedding day. There was a *slight* chip at the very tip of one finger, and you could only tell because my polish was burgundy, but even then you couldn't really tell. I think it would be fine.
