i am still toying with this idea and i want to hear from you if you're doing a friday wedding ... it will save us over 2k on the venue so i'm wondering if it will be worth it....

Crashing! YES!! We actually PLANNED on having a Fri evening wedding before we set our date. I like the idea of having the whole weekend to recover and for the amount it saves in $, its a no brainer for me! The only downfall is that obviously you will not have everyone at the ceremony unless you do an evening ceremony as we are... But I have found that Friday pm wedding are more and more common nowadays! People LOVE an excuse to take a half day ;)

Crashing! I am getting married on a Friday. It's Labor Day weekend and Friday was cheaper.

Yes. We are. It's the 4th of July though, so most people will have off.

I'm getting married on a Friday. Originally wanted a Saturday but the price difference was a no brainer for a Friday night. Also, FH and I liked that on Friday, we have the whole venue to ourselves since they usually don't have Friday day parties and we can arrive whenever we want. If we booked Saturday, we would have to wait until the Saturday day party(if one was booked) left until we could arrive.

We booked a Friday for that exact reason. Plus, it gives your guests the whole weekend to recover!

I'm also getting married on a Friday evening. Originally we wanted a Saturday, but when we saw how much we would save by getting married on a Friday instead it was a very logical choice. There is plenty of advance notice for our guests to either request the day off or maybe leave work a little early to have enough time to make it to our ceremony on time. I also figured it gives us the option to make a weekend out of it! :)

Friday evening as well! Saved so much money and the people who want to be at the church will make sure they take off!!

Yup, We are Friday Night, it was the best price and since it's a holiday there's no work regardless.

We are doing a friday and since our ceremony is at the venue out guests don't have to be there until 7:30 so most people can still work and make it to the ceremony

We originally planned a Saturday night wedding but when I was told I would save $6,000 if I moved it to a Friday night there was no way I couldn't take it.

WOW!! if it was $6,000 difference for me, it would totally be a no-brainer, too!! but in the grand scheme of things, i'm not sure $2,000 makes that much of a difference. (i mean, it does ... but you know what I mean).

Personally, if it came to $2,000 I would go with the Saturday cause it's honestly what I really wanted but in my situation I couldn't see not moving it to the Friday.

exactly ... I can't really see $2k making a big difference, especially since I am 16 months out from the date i'm looking at ... I really do want a Saturday and unfortunately at this venue the price difference isn't enough to warrant moving to a Friday. (I wish it was!)

We did a friday because it was worth it for us financially. Also I loved that I could get there any time I wanted to take my pictures before the ceremony and not wait for the afternoon party to leave!

Honestly- if it was the difference of 2k and 2k isnt that big of a deal to you, i'd choose the saturday.

We went with a friday bc it was saving us 6k also, and it was either get married on a Friday at a place i LOVED or get married on a saturday somewhere else. I chose the Friday bc if people want to be at the church- they'll make it happen! Thats what save the dates are for- gives them plenty of planning time!
