Re: Any over 30 brides???

Hi I was 31 when I got married. I had a small wedding. I some of the usual things like cutting the cake but I had them play When I'm 64.....instead of that other song. I couldn't do Father/ Daughter dance (my father passed away) but did dance with my brother. I also stayed away from the bouquet or garter toss because I always kinda hated standing out there waiting to catch the bouquet myself at other weddings....good luck planning ladies let me know if i can be of any help!

In answer to the question; am I doing anything different. I am not doing the garter toss or the father/daughter dance. My FI feels since its his 2nd and his mother is not well he wont do the mother/son dance either. The BM is doing the toast but so is my sister the MOH. Oh, and instead of tossing the bouquet I am doing the anniversary dance. I also am wearing Ivory since it looks better on me, if I had gotten married younger I would have never had the guts not to wear white.

I will be 33 when we get married. My FH will be 38. I am loving my 30s - I think being older makes me appreciate all of the good things going on in my life a little more.

35!!! Yea for us 'older women'!!!!!

No garter, no throwing of the bouquet--the anniversary dance will work nicely. My still single friends asked me not to embarress them publicly!!!

I am not having programs printed and my BP is small so we will do introductions at the reception.

My dad wants to dance with his last girl, how could I say no?

Re: Any over 30 brides???

YAY for the 30+ brides! I'm almost 31 and will be 33 when we tie the knot, FH is just a little over a year older than me so he'll be 34 when our special day comes. I have no kids, but FH has a 7 y.o. son from a previous mess, I mean marriage . I know, I never thought this 'step mother' thing would be for me either, but as much as I fought it... I fell madly in love with the man of my dreams when I was 29 - and everything just made sense. Fortunately, his son LOVES me, despite a great deal of parental alientation and can't wait for us to be married! We both want children that will be ours and FH said the cutest thing to me the other day when I was throwing him some ideas about our wedding... he said that he feels like this is really his first wedding and he is so excited. He was forced into his first (if you know what I mean )... ahh we all make mistakes and when I was the age he was when he made his, I recall I was dating someone who could have caused me a lot of trouble . I just got 'lucky' that I took nothing away from that relationship (unwanted pregnancy/disease).

I, like some of you said, could not have been married in my 20's. Not that I was a 'party girl', but I traveled and lived in another state/city for a while and to think that I wouldn't have had those experiences looking back (although after 25 I remember crying 'am I ever going to meet someone and get married - I'm so OLD ) I wouldn't have traded those experiences to have been a 20 something bride. I think you have more experiences to offer when you've 'lived' a little. Any of you ladies 'live in sin' like FH and I do

We didn't do the bouquet/garter toss either. We did the anniversary dance and everyone loved it.
