Any tips for preparing myself for a brazillian?

This is my first time getting it done. I was told to exfoliate the night before and to take a tylenol the day of. Is it really that painful? Should I take a pain killer instead of a tylenol? I am getting scared now.. my appt is at 6:00 tonight... oh boy....

No, I would just take the Tylenol about a half hour before your appointment.

I went last night for my first bikini wax, and she said she went 'further in' because it was my wedding. And this morning, I was thinking I should have just gone for the whole thing - it really wasn't that bad at all.

I think advil would be better than tylenol, for the anti-inflammatory purposes! I haven't done it yet, but a friend/co-worker goes regularly. She's a biggg baby, but is able to handle it w/ no problems. Good luck!

its not bad and it gets better the more you go.

It's really not that bad. Do you know if the place uses hard wax? I find that the hard wax hurts a lot less than the wax they rip off with the linen strips. If they give you a choice, definitely go with the hard wax.

I usually take two advil before I go and I'm fine...

Of course, a couple of cocktails couldn't hurt either!

I would take 2 advil within an hour of the appointment and one shortly afterwards if you are feeling any pain.

i've never taken tylonal - though its a good idea! It's uncomfortable, but it will be done before you know it.

i say take at least 2 500 milligrams of vicodin. It hurts, im not going to sugar coat it, i got it done once, and never ever again! It lasted a while too but its just not worth the pain, maybe if i would have taken some pain killers before it would of been more bearable

i do it all the time..never taken any kind of pain killers but hmmm that is an idea!
it does hurt but it isnt as bad as ppl say. Well i guess it depends on where you go....i only go to Hands of nature and they do it in 1-2-3 plus their wax is made by them by all natural ingredients and it hurts alot less than reg wax...if you can handle the pain for less than 10 mins...just for those girls who never go from what ive been told
dont think oh if i shave most of it off b4 hand it is better......bc its not! if its longer they can get it out by the root and it will be alot 'softer' and you will not have a touch up for a lil longer period of time.
also my place takes it alllll off! haha i cant believe im saying this but no joke they get in there...its embarssing as all hell but it really is worth it, they even go down toawards your ahhhh 'butt' so just be aware!
may sound horrible but again its worth the pain!

good luck! oh and as for exfoliateing...id call and ask that ? bc ive never ever heard that...id think if you did that you may get red and irraated...god knows get a lil cut and once the wax hits that it may burn somewhat?! i dunno maybe its me!!

For girls that have done this already -- can you suggest a good place to go get this done? (I don't want to go to my regular waxing place..too )

The place I am going to go to is Eternal Spa in Babylon Village in Babylon NY.

It's on Main Street. It looks very clean. I was going tonight but I had to cancel due to a family birthday party FH forgot to tell me about thay we have to go to!!

Here's another thought. I am thinking it would hurt a little more having it done towards when you are getting your period, only b.c your skin is more tender, etc... I read that somewhere.. maybe it's true who knows...

In addition to taking advil or tylenol, I 100% suggest bikinizone cream. If you put it on right after it is very soothing and realives irritation.

I have a wonderful wax place on Madison Ave in NYC if you are interested.

Feel free to FM me.

Milk takes the sting out afterwards, too.

Just went for my first last week!

I took 2 advil an hour before and I put lidocane cream on the area.

It was quicker than I thought, and it does hurt when she rips off the wax with the strips, but its for a few seconds.

For me, it did hurt for a few hours afterwards too.
