Anyone bothered by the RSVP'rs?

Original post by SFAR89

I have had at least 5 people TELL me that they are coming, instead of mailing the RSVP back to me.

Did this bother anyone? I just felt like it was a waste of money for all those stamps that I bought. Not to mention, it makes it so much easier to have all the RSVP cards in one place and mark people off of the list, instead of having to remember who called me, or emailed me or messaged me and told me that hey were coming.

Did anyone have this happen to them? Did it bother you as well?

OH MY GOD - YESSSSS!!! I had people doing that to me also - just kinda saying if they're coming or not, and never sending in the RSVP. That was such a pain. I found myself telling them to mail it anyway so i could have it. But people still didn't send 'em in. I hope they really ARE coming

I wonder if this has something to do with paper being a thing of the past. I agree it's rude but I wonder if RSVP's would yield a better rate of return (can you tell I work in finance) if they were electronic.

I've been kicking around the electronic RSVP via a wedding website. If I do it, I'll let you girls know. I read this post and am mailing the RSVP to my cousin's wedding first thing in the morning! Don't want to stress the girl out.

I am not so worried really, or aggrivated, I just don't know why people can't stick a piece of paper in the mail that is filled out for them already lol It just blows my mind how people can do these sorts of things when it comes to a big event like this.

I will speak for those rude annoying guests that dont send out the RSVP's :

Well, I am defnitely one of those people that NEVER send out the RSVP. I am that annoying person that calls, e-mails, texts etc. instead of using the stamp that was given to me on the invitation.

Why? because my hectic schedule makes it extremely difficult to get to a post office; and honestly half the time I simply 'forget' b.c I am busy w. my crazy life. I usually end up walking around with the RSVP in my purse....unfortunately it stays there.

I am very well aware that come MY RSVP date I will def. get a taste of my own medicine, which I am completely fine with. As long as I get a phone call I will be fine. Knowing my disorganized self I will prob. lose the RSVP's I get in the mail.

Anyway, dont get so upset. At least people are letting you know. Just b.c we dont send out the RSVP it doesnt mean that we dont care about your wedding or anything, it just means that we are probably very disorganized busy people. I know that I def. dont mean any harm by it.

Love,
The rude guest.

Did you already put a stamp on the RSVP card? I'd just simply say, 'Oh, that's great! But we have so much going on to remember for the wedding, it would be great if you could just drop the RSVP card in the mail.'
