I have had at least 5 people TELL me that they are coming, instead of mailing the RSVP back to me.
Did this bother anyone? I just felt like it was a waste of money for all those stamps that I bought. Not to mention, it makes it so much easier to have all the RSVP cards in one place and mark people off of the list, instead of having to remember who called me, or emailed me or messaged me and told me that hey were coming.
Did anyone have this happen to them? Did it bother you as well?

Re: Anyone bothered by the RSVP'rs?
My best friend complained about the very same thing when she was getting married! She said that so many people did this.
When people would call her or her mother to say they were coming, they started to say 'ok - just send back the RSVP to confirm - I won't remember everyone who calls.'

be glad they're giving you an answer hahaha, look at how many girls complain that its past their RSVP date and they are missing like 60 or so RSVP's and havent even heard a word from them. So try to look on the bright side of things. Don't get aggrevated about all these things bc honestly we all go through it and nothing you can do and no reason to stress out about things we can't control. Enjoy this moment and let go of the small things.

Re: Anyone bothered by the RSVP'rs?
I had the same thing happen. My RSVP date was Monday. On that day, I had plenty of people tell me they were coming ( verbally). I literally had to beg people to send me their cards. I just told them that the stamp was already on it so what does it hurt?
I am still missing 16 RSVP's at this moment not to mention that now people are changing their minds about whether or not they are bringing dates. arghhhh so frustrated. I don't know how I am supposed to do my seating chart when the numbers are changing daily. ( sorry but I needed that vent)

Hey date twin :)
My RSVP date was the 7th. I know I probably sent some out a little late, and that is not what I am worried about. I just hate how people can't just stick it into the mailbox!
I am not hunting people down for an RSVP. If they can't take the time to do so, then I am not going to waste my time with them. I had to do that for my OWN bridal shower. I had to call people and ask them if they were coming or not!
I mean...the way I look at it, whenever I get something like this, I send it out RIGHT away. People are waiting for information on how much they have to pay for, and the seating charts and all of that.
I swear...people can just be so clueless when it comes to weddings and the right things to do. I don't understand it.

I am not so worried really, or aggrivated, I just don't know why people can't stick a piece of paper in the mail that is filled out for them already lol It just blows my mind how people can do these sorts of things when it comes to a big event like this.

Re: Anyone bothered by the RSVP'rs?
it would bother me completely simply because you're asking them to send back an already stamped envelope so you can keep track of the yes' and the nos and knowing me I'd check off 'yes' because someone told me they were coming and a few weeks later I'd look for the card, forgetting we talked, and I'd second guess myself.
I really don't see what's the big deal nor why it's so hard to send back an envelope with your response rather than call.

That is true as well. I go to look at my list of received RSVP's, and I wrote down names of some people who emailed me, or spoke to me about it, and I go 'wait..did I write them down b/c I didn't get it yet...or b/c they said yes' Even thought the list is just for that purpose, sometimes I do things while in a rush and forget why they were put down lol

i know it can definitely be annoying at times. DH was the one who kept telling people they HAVE to send in their RSVP's. They would tell him they were coming and he would say ok can you send in the card though. I finally had to tell him its fine just tell me who said yes and i will put it in my excel guest list sheet bc at this point i just needed the headcount and wanted it as quick as possible. At that time and point I just didn't care lol i told Dh we had bigger issues to worry about and to stop harassing everyone. He even called people a week after we sent out invites and asking when they were going to send theirs in lol.

Re: Anyone bothered by the RSVP'rs?
I can handle the many people who gave verbal responses...some people are just really forgetful...what I can't deal with are those that I had to track down and ask who aren't able to come to the wedding....how could they know that they couldn't come to the wedding and fail to mention it to me??? Two of those people I work with and see every day.....I just find that so rude....I could have asked other people in their place, had they mentioned it to me in a timely manner....
THOSE are the RSVP that I can't stand

Re: Anyone bothered by the RSVP'rs?
Hey Date twin, I think this is just a frustatrating process all around. I had so many people assume I knew they were coming thyat sending a RSVP to them just seemed liek a joke. I can honestly tell you that half the wedding party didn't even bother sending in theirs. I really just gave up on it at the end as I was trying to make sure we would make our min. and started to let people get away with just verbally telling me. I am sure I will get some cards today when I get home even though they are 2 days past... I cannot wait for all this to be over with.

Re: Anyone bothered by the RSVP'rs?
it TOTALLY annoys me.....its like why did i even bother buying a stamp for you and paying extra for the response envelope its just so aggravating, that stamp, response card and envelope cost me money and its proper etiquette to mail it back, i just think its rude and disrespectful - i have quite a few people who refuse to send it back.....and it really pissed me off it stupid, but its just the point and it really aggravates me.....im glad im not the only psycho j/k

the seating chart was pretty easy actually. DH did his side since he knew who couldn't sit with who and who had to sit at certain tables, and his side was bigger than mine. I was surprised how quickly he did it lol, i think he did the whole thing in 30 mins. Then the same night i did my side and friends tables which was quick too since each group of friends we just sat together.
However, ALOT of ppl complain about this and takes them long.

As long as it didnt take days for some people lol I am figuring that it will only take me a few hours to complete everything. FH wants nothing to do with stuff like this, so he is left out, and his family sits where I put them.
I just don't want to underestimate the time it will take me, b/c I am not planning on the seating chart being a big deal.

lol I guess I can be a bit neurotic when it comes to these things. I just want to get into peoples heads and understand what they are thinking when they get a WEDDING INVITATION in the mail lol

Yeah i was glad dh took charge of his side bc honestly his family is just TOO big. I mean his side alone was about 75 or more and this was just aunts, uncles, first cousins and their spouses lol. Plus with his family you cant just sit them anywhere. I learned this from the e-party bc as soon as it started i heard there was a fight about amongst his family members bc of who sat where, luckily i missed it but i heard alot about it lol so didnt want to deal with any of that. I gave the list to his mom to double check everything and she pretty much said dh did it well, i think she just made 1 or 2 changes. But trust me that i was glad to give them that task, i didnt want to deal with it lol.
most say it was the worst part and can get complicated and annoying.

yes, i had quite a few people respond via email, or phone, or EVEN text. it is annoying. I just did my seating chart yesterday. the best thing to do, is get FH's mom to do her list, and get your mom to do her list. Then all you really need to worry about is you and FH's friends. It took me a few hours to do it.
I am also gonna give the hall 4 people less than my actual headcount. I am banking on a few people flaking out from FH's side. They are notorious for not showing up (his extended family)
