How are you going to accomodate that many people? We are expecting 12 or more and I don't know where I am going to put everyone.

I am having Thanksgiving this year. It will be my third year in a row and second year that both families will be together.

I can accomodate 12 in my dining room, I bought a small table for the kids that fits 4 and then I have 3 large folding tables that I will set up in the basement, the 65inch is down there so we can all guess that the guys will be down there.

We're cooking thanksgiving too!

But, we've done it here the last 2 years, so it's not so new.

What's nice is that my parents cook a few side dishes at their house, while we do the turkey and other dishes here...so they bring over some yummy food and it's a lot less work for us.

This will be our third year hosting Thanksgiving, its usually approx. 24 people (3 kids).

Loads and loads of Apps.
G'ma's Thanksgiving Soup
Turkey w/gravy
(another meat)
2 kinds of stuffing
mashed potatoes
candied yams
Cranberry Sauce
Veg -corn, creamed onions, green bean casserole, peas, carrots
Biscuits

Pecan Pie, Pumpkin Pie
Carrot Cake, Apple Pie
Irish Soda Bread
other asst goodies!

My biggest problem is heating everything and making sure it stays hot before everyone sits down. Last year we even used the BBQ and the side burner to heat some things... but inevitably something gets cold!

Jim wants me to make thanksgiving dinner for his family. Im sorta freaked out by that idea.

I love to cook and love to bake and I’ve done thanksgiving before for my roommates and Jim. Jim says his grandmother truthfully has no idea what to do with a turkey that it’s just not a Chinese thing. Im a simple kinda gal so here’s my usual menu.

Stuff Turkey with aromatics (Rosemary, Tyme, Apples, Cinnamon & Onions) God bless Emril
Stuffing (Jim’s favorite)
Gravy (Jim makes some awesome gravy)
Corn (my fav)
Green Beans (EWWWW)
Mash Potatoes
Buttered Rolls
Cranberries both whole and Jellied.
Iced Tea (don’t ask, it just seems right)
Pumpkin Pie (The smell of that baking while you’re eating is devine)
whipped cream
Fudge Brownies with Ghiradelli Double Dark Chocolate Chips & Walnuts

Viola
Turn on the Football and Root on the Cowboys!!!

Re: Anyone cooking for the family this Thansgiving?

Last year I cooked my first turkey and it came out awesome. So I am elected from now on. I make a cranberry glazed turkey. My mom makes the stuffing. Mashed potatoes, yams, cranberry sauce and spinach are some of the extras. I am going to make a rooted vegeable mash as another side this year.

Although, it will only be 4 of us, I am sure I will make enough to feed everyone here.

I've done it the last 2 years. In fact, we have made Thanksgiving *my* holiday! I really enjoy it!

Although, this year my mom suggested we all go to Atlantic City, and with all that I'm going through, I just might take her up on it!!
