I wasn't into goth garb, but I listened to all those bands......I would love to hear some of it again like Joy Division and Love & Rockets, Depeche Mode was my favorite (although I never considered them 'goth'), Smiths and the Cure. I didn't like Bauhaus though. I tried coming into the house once with a ton of black eyeliner on and my parents flipped out. So no goth clothing here.
There's this band from early 80's...APB...they weren't goth per se but does anyone remember them? I think they were English or Scotish.
Didnt APB sing a song that went like.. 'I would like to shoot you down.. I would likeeee to shoot you down.. funk get ready to roll, funk get ready to roll, leave my funk alone'..
I never got really into goth but I do remember wearing my Chuck Taylors to the Molloy dance and thinking I was so cool. Like Maribelle posted I may not have dressed it but I was into all that music - I remember seeing Depeche Mode at Radio City, maybe it was 85, 86.
WC you looked so cute. I had short hair too, but never buzzed it.

Thanks - really, though, what a loser!!
I think those pics are terrific! And I remember some of my friends had a very similar hair cut (one friend even had a little 'rat tail' in the back for extra punkiness!)

Nothing like a CHS dance refrence to bring all of this flooding back.
I shaved under my hair - and I shaved under my best friends hair - the same day she got her nose ring - her poor mother - I remember her walking in to her dinning room me with a buzzer in my hands.
I am suprised she loves me to this day!!

Thanks
The one on the right was opening night a Luxe a few years back... I guess about 7 years ago. I was visiting Hahn (you can see her head protruding from my lap)
The other one was in HS.....about 14 years ago

Re: anyone else a goth growing up
i have to dig some pics up. i look at my old journals from those days and my goth poetry it was so funny. my mom use to buy my goth clothes and make me my black velvet wedding dresses and capes. i was always complimented lol and had to say mommie made it lol. my fav saying from back then was 'i wear black on the outside because black is how i feel on the inside' lol. my parents were super cool and pretty much let me dress how i wanted. i wasnt allowed to get piercings on my face though. my brother was allowed though .
did anyone go to ward 6? remember father jeff? and his coffin filled with records lol

I was more of a grunge girl. Depeche Mode was, and still is, my favorite group. But I also loved Nirvana, Green Day and Pearl Jam. I didn't do the black goth outfits but I did the ripped jeans, huge flannel shirts outfits.

HearzBellz - I used to go to Luxe all the time... so funny I probably saw you there a gazillion times. My stepmother's sister was dating one of the owners at the time it opened- so we used to go there all the time for free- it was a great night out, even though they played the same music every week :)

OMG I loved the Smiths, Depeche Mode, and the Cure! I found some of my Morrissey t shirts when cleaning out my closet at my Dad's house. I just can't throw them away! I dyed my hair black for a bit, but it looked really bad.
REALLY?!?

Just wanted to add in my two cents - I was a wannabe goth. I loved the clothes but couldn't afford them. I had a few dresses. I'll dig up pictures and post later.
