anyone else concerned....

About the size of their room. Either way... if the room is large and ur not inviting 300 people do u think it's going to look empty?

Or ur inviting A LOT and ur afraid it's going to look and become cramped.

I ask because one of the florists said, 'oh.. at carlyle it won't look good unless you have at least 25 tables' (which he said after i asked to be quoted for about 18 tables lol).

yes i know he was a @s$ for saying it but now he put that thought into my mind... i am still in love with my hall but u know what i mean.

i wouldn't stress it! i am sure your hall will look fine no matter how many ppl!

i think we will have a good #....the woodlands say you can have 300 or so but i think it would be too crowded. We expect about 175-200 which i think will be perfect for that ball room.

i think with the decor and the lighting and everything else it will look soo nice!! and i think the guest won't look at the emptiness they look at everything else but space...

I wouldnt worry. my hall holds up to 450 people and i thought the same thing that it might look empty.. but i saw it set up one day for that many and still looked beautiful!!:)

hey hun!!! as i said in my fm, the room looks gorgeous no matter what, and with a minimum guarantee of 150, how can it look too big for you? you would have had to guarantee more for that if it would look to big! Do not be concerned, i wouldnt steer you the wrong way

I agree with the decor and everything else it will all look perfect I don't think you'll notice empty or too tight unless personally really cramped. Rather have too much room than too little, I wouldn't worry!! We had the issue of almost not having enough room for the engagement party so we were conscious of this and should be fine in our room. I def personally wouldn't be worried about my room looking empty bc it's nice to have room to breath!!

This is actually something I think about alot. I'm having around 200-225 people but my room is kind of small. I just don't want it to look crowded. But I don't mind if the dancefloor looks packed!

i thought my room would be too empty too but i was assured by a bride who has the same number of guests in the same room for her wedding that it looks great.. so im not as worried!

Nah, I am not worried...Once the lights are dimmed and everyone is enjoying themselves, no one is going to be thinking 'oh I have too much room at this table, unaccecptable...'Dont stress it at all

Re: anyone else concerned....

We were really concerned about this when looking into halls. We plan to have 200-220 guests so the room had to be big, not overcrowded, and the dance floor had to be able to accomodate this large number.

We absolutely loved Westbury Manor, they had our date, and we really wanted to book with them... however, I think there manor room is not as big as they think it is! IMO the dance floor was very very small and I think they are crazy to have a minimum gurantee of 225. When we saw the room it was set up for 170 and I thought it was overcrowded.

I like the layout of Floral Terrace's room and how the seating is arranged. We saw the room set up for 200 (our number of guests) and there was still so much room to move around and the tables were not on top of one another. I am a bit concerned about the dance floor though, it is not the biggest

I drive myself crazy thinking about this all the time

if you feel a little uneasy, maybe call your venue and ask to come see it set up for your size wedding...this way you get a feel for the tables and amount of room left.

ITA! This is such a great idea. it gives you the best visual you can get. So glad that when I saw FT the room was set up for a wedding our size.

no im not concerned because the wall behind the deus moves so we could back the room look full even though it can be expanded to fit more people

I sometimes feel the same way. I went with the room we booked b/c I didn't want it to feel cramped, but sometimes I worry that it is too big.

I actually didn't book certain places b/c when we went to see the rooms I couldn't see how 150 people could comfortably fit.

I think about this. I am afraid my room is going to look to over crowded. I have a min gaurentee of 165, and will probably have around 180 I am afraid it will look cramped. The room is also rectangular which is kind of starange I can't always imagine it.......

I am sure it will be fine though. The halls do this stuff everyday and know what they can and cannot fit.,.... atleast that is what I am telling myself

A little. My room holds 170-180 and we'll only be having around 110 but I can't picture that many people being in the room and it not being crowded...I'm sure I'm just overreacting though.

My main concern is that more people come to the wedding than what we expect. I am planning on calling everyone that does not respond before I invite the people on my B list but I keep having the same dream about not having enough seats..lol

Re: anyone else concerned....

A little bit...The room could hold 230 (I would definately not have 230 though in my room) and the minimum is I think 120 so you would think me at around 160 would be perfect but I really want there to be enough room around the tables and stuff for people to walk. The first time I looked at the room, I thought it was the perfect size, but on future looks, it looked a little small. Im sure it will be fine though, really. I did try to change to the larger room which I know has had my number of people and looks great but they wanted a higher minimum and I just couldnt do it.
