By this whole Eliot Spitzer BS? I voted for ES, after listening to him preach the moral high road for years. What a creep.

corrupt yes, but 80k worth of prostitutes...not quite the same to me as the other adulterous/misogynistic stories about politicians in the last 10 or 15 years. especially b/c he preached so much about morality and righteousness. bill clinton really made no secret that he was a pig, so i wasn't too shocked by that one.

exactly - spitzer built his legal career as a tough prosecutor - fighting coruption and vices -
prostituion rings being one of them - as former prosecutor myself - he sickens me -

I 100% agree. Maybe I am idealistic, but anyone voted into office should not be behaving in this manner, period. It's disgusting. And they think maybe he used CAMPAIGN MONEY to pay for these hookers .... NOW THAT SICKENS ME.

And I do not know if it's true, but I heard -- from my mother -- that Kathleen Rice is a recovering alcoholic and doesn't drive, ever.

Right, and another thing I should've posted last night - even if 'everyone does it' - that doesn't make it right.

As far as Kathleen Rice goes - she is very close to some partners at my firm. I've never heard the recovering alcoholic thing, but I guess I shouldn't expect to - it's not like that's something that would be being discussed around the office.

i dont think its right at all, just bc everybody does it wont make it right. My point was just that i am not shocked, its sad and horrible to see, i mean if he wanted to destroy his own life then thats his problem but his mistakes effect his family too. Its disgusting but thing is that i dont look at these people with high regards, i dont have high opinions of them. I mean look at cops, even police commissioners, lawyers, and even judges that are on the payroll for mobsters who bend the rules for bad guys, unfortunately it is the reality of how things work. And even with drugs, come on how do you think so much drugs get into our country, i mean cargos of it and our government doesn't know. Of course they know bc they get a cut of it

Like ever, ever? No - that isn't true, I used to work for her as an ADA - she drives, I saw her all the time driving her car to work and to starbucks..

Ok - like I said - I didn't know if it was true. My mom said she had to get picked up to go to work every day. She is probably confusing her with someone else. Thanks for the clarification.

Anybody else feel that he has had a smirk on his face when he speaks about this?? Maybe not the resignation 'speech' but when he first apologized ... he had this weird half-laugh look on his face. I wanted to reach through the TV and ring his neck.
