I'm 34 now, but I'll be 36 by the time I tie the knot. Better late than never!!! Any other 'older' brides out there?

My FMIL is currently planning her wedding, and she's in her late 40's. She's so excited because she never had a big traditional wedding with her first marriage.

OK, ladies, a follow-up...What wisdom have you found comes with age in regards to wedding planning?

I know that for me, I'm definitely more flexible about the little things than I would have been in my 20s. I'm also a lot more considerate about how much things cost. Although, I'm going to try not to let that prevent me from enjoying a honeymoon in Tahiti!

I was amazed at how my FMIL who is planning her wedding in her late 40's got her ENTIRE wedding planned in ONE WEEKEND!!! And it's not like she had to rush, her wedding is still not until September. I guess that she really knows what she wants and doesn't want to be bothered by dwelling on all the little details. She also got great prices for everything. I was really impressed. I'm in my 20's planning my wedding and it's taking me forever because I just can't make decisions!

We were both 35 when we got married and we definitely did not have the wedding we would have had had we been younger. We stayed away from 'cutesy' bridal things and preferred a more mature sophisticated look to our wedding. Most of our own guests were in our age range and older as well. It was elegance and not a lot of 'fluff and puff'.
