Anyone else look young?

I am a teacher. Last year I was a substitute teacher and kids were talking about drinking and stuff. One student was saying that they shouldn't be talking about these things in front of the teacher. But the other students were saying 'Oh she is young, she doesn't care....she didn't graduate from high school that long ago.' Then they asked me 'What year did you graduate? Like 2004?'

And I said '1992.' I am 33.

They were stunned.

At my age, I am happy to look younger, but sometimes it is upsetting that I may not get the respect I deserve.

That's great!!! I'm a special ed. consultant. I travel between districts- I can't tell you how many times I've been stopped in the hallway and asked why I'm not in class. Meanwhile, I'm dressed in business attire- do the students typically wear suits or dress clothes?

i feel like it has a lot to do with how people dress these days too! our culture is so casual now that a lot of us dress bummy and older people associate that with younger people!

SOOOOOOO true, there are times i wear sneakers, hoodie and jeans or ill wear camo pants, or a hat or something and i think they associate alot of those trends with younger people and sometimes i feel like others would think 'you're too old for that' but then again so many ppl i know still dress like that.

meeee....when i was at college picking up a paycheck the payroll lady almost kicked me out of the office saying i shouldnt be in there and im like um im here to get my check...she thought i was 12!!!!! that was my worst 'you look young experience' now i get the whole oh u look 18 (im 25)....so its not asss bad. im also not super curvy or 'womanly' hahaha so that doesnt help either.

but i totally think trendy and casual clothes def make ppl think ure younger.

i just hate it when it comes to work/career stuff because i always think ppl will never really take me as seriously because theyll always think of me as the 'young' one. grrrrr

I look very you and I am pushinbg 30. I love it!!!! It is a complement and believe me, if you dont love it now you will someday soon. Dont try and make yourself look older...embrace it and enjoy it! So many women would kill for that kind of problem.

Trust me on that, it's the truth. When I was 21 people thought I was still in grammar school...People never believe I'm 40 and now I LOVE IT...
Enjoy it while it lasts.

I always love when someone says well you are young you have loads of time. Usually they are so way off on how old they think I am.
When I was young I looked very young, now I am older and I will NEVER get tired of someone saying to me 'wow I thought you were 20whatever' I hate to say it but you will appreciate the compliment when you are older. My girlfriend is 10yrs older than me and someone thought she was my mom. Now I dont look that young and she doesnt look that old I thought.

Im going to be 24 in like a month and people tell me i look 16

people ask me if i'm celebrating my sweet 16.. lol!!!! i'm 23... i guess it's good.. when i'm like 40 i'll look like i'm 30ish.. lol!!!

i have gotten carded for rated R movies in the past few months.
I am 24 but apparently look like i'm 16.

people don't look close enough to see the wrinkles lol

i love it. i can't wait till i'm 40 and people think i'm 32

My all time favorite was I got carded when going to see a rated R movie... I was 22 at the time....

Another time I was getting my make-up done for some event and the lady told me to remember them when I have my prom (mind you I was 23!!!!!!!!!!)

UMMM - Yeah
I will be 41 on Monday and I have been told I look 28 to 29.
My skin is still smooth although some dark spots are starting to appear on my cheeks. I keep my hair colored to cover the gray, which started when I was 20.
I have no problem looking younger than I really am.

haha I'm glad I'm not the only one. When I went to try on my wedding gown the sales lady had asked me where my mom was and did she know I was cutting school to play dress up.

I'm wondering if teenage girls go to bridal stores to try on wedding gowns all the time....

omg that is my biggest night mare! im dreading going to try on wedding gowns - i feel like they are going to look at me like i have 10 heads!
