When you are taking the 7 am trains leaving wantagh what time do you get to the city?? i've never taken lirr before but that's going to be my commute. I usually have to go downtown by chambers. just wondering how much time i have to leave for heading downtown. i usually have to be there at 9:30 for a 10 a.m. start. are the trains around 7 am a good option or can i sleep later?
you can take the 8:12 (ish) and get in at 8:56. then you can hop on the subway ...
sounds good. thanks so much!!

When I officially move to LI, I'll be on the 8:03am from Valley Stream. If I want to be a little early for work I'll be on the 7:45am.
thats what i took today! Its a local, so it feels like its a never ending train ride. However, you always get a seat b/c it starts in V.S. But im usually on the 7:25
When i stay at FH's a few times a week i take the 7:28 from Bayside

I take the 8:05 from Auburndale..takes me an hour to get to work, because I walk to Madison & 40th from Penn Station.
Once we get married, I'll be taking the 7 train 1 stop from LIC to Grand Central..it should take 15 mins door to door...I can't wait!
I also work on Madison & 40th weird, 292 Madison Avenue, I used to take the train from Bayside but now we live in Fresh Meadows so I take the express bus which can suck with the traffic sometimes. If I'm in a rush I take the LIRR to Bayside and FH picks me up.
I'm at 275 Madison! We're neighbors.

I take the 6:08 train from RONKONKOMA! Its rough!
Mrs.T in july I'll be coming in from Ronkonkoma also the 6:39am though.
The girls who are planning on taking the 6:39 from Ronkonkoma.....I reccomend getting to the train station a little earlier at take the 6:24 if you can swing it. The 6:24 is an awesome train. It goes: Ronkonkoma - Hicksville - Penn Station...only makes ONE stop!

Thanks MrsT.
I used to take the 6:24am or the 7:19 am from Ronkomkoma when I used to go to Penn. Loved that it only made one stop!!
Now I work in LIC so I have to transfer for the LIC train at Jamaica

when i worked in the city I would take either the 728, 738, or 756 from NHP or 814 from Stewart Manor. 30 minutes and I was in NYC!

i would try to take the 7:45 it is express, it stops in 2 or 3 other stations after valley stream and then NO JAMAICA. Penn Station is the next stop. it is awesome. The 8:03 feels so slow since it make a lot of stops. I take both to go to clients in the city.
Eh, that doesn't bother me. If I take the later train it means I sleep 15 minutes later

I take the train from Long Beach. Honestly it only takes me 15 minutes longer than when I lived on the UES.

It depends on where in Nassau you're getting on, it's divided by zones. You definitely want a monthly pass.

When I lived in East Meadow I went out of Bellmore, it's the closest and has free parking (Hicksville is also close but you have to pay for parking). Most trains are direct into Penn in the mornings w/only one other stop at Merrick, so it's a great napping trip! Good luck!

you could take the lirr into penn for the e. or you could the lirr into hunterspoint ave and take the 7 into grand central.

I used to take the 7.18 from Westbury and arrive at NYC by 8.05 I worked in midtown and would get there (with walking in under an hour)
I loved the train. I slept on the way in and would read on the way home.
