Re: Ivy Leaguers

Jo...my parents were both teachers, too! Will the similarities never end?

Lisa...I could swing a get-together on 12/23 or 12/27 or 28, depending on time and location. I will mostly be in Commack, with a side trip to Princeton, NJ, to see some of my FH's relatives, and a few quick trips into Manhattan. But let me know if you want to try to pull something together. It would be fun!

Re: Ivy Leaguers

I'll be having some friends over my parents house on the night of the 28th (in Commack/Smithtown - they'll be on a cruise). You're welcome to come by! Bill and Nicole were invited but can't make it.

I'm available the 27-30th also. Anyone interested in a mini-gathering?

Re: Holiday Gathering

Ah right, you know Bill and Nicole too...now THAT would have been wild to all get together! It's SUCH a small world.

At any rate, I should have clarified that we're only free during the day on the 28th...that night, we leave for 5 days in London!

I'd be up for something on the 27th, though. Or we could even meet somewhere for lunch on the 28th...

It might be too crazy a time of year to try to do this. Though I venture to say I'll be in your neighborhood at some point...you're right over by Foothill lane, aren't you (where my hs ex-boyfriend used to live)? My family used to go there every year to see the Minnetti's house all decorated for Christmas!

Re: Holiday Gathering

did you know the Minnetti's moved? Its been tough on the neighborhood every Xmas. I forgot you dated Scott...

We're very close by - just up the hill in the newer (now 20 years old) development. At the very least we could do lunch.

Re: Holiday Gathering

I had heard that...my family was upset when the big light display stopped happening. I haven't been around that area in a while, actually...last time I was there, I think I even stopped in to see Scott's mom!

We could certainly try to do lunch on the 27th or 28th...let me make sure I don't have any family obligations, but we can pencil something in. Is there anywhere decent to eat in/around Commack? The only place I ever remember going to is the Candlelight Diner. haha.

Would we invite the boys, too, and/or should we publicize this to other brides who might want to meet up? If so, maybe we should start a new thread... whaddya think?

edited to say, do you think Bill and Nicole could make a lunch??

Re: Holiday Gathering

I've got a thread on the newlywed board about going out for a drink on the 29th, but thats not going to work for you.

We can get others together for lunch - boys are welcome.

Re: Holiday Gathering

Sounds good. Do you want to put out a feeler to others and pick a time/date/place to meet? We don't need to be at the airport on the 28th until about 8 pm, so sometime earlier that day (noon-ish?) might work well for us, particularly if it's in or near Commack. I need to get back to studying for my business law final now (UGH), but keep me posted!!

Re: Holiday Gathering

Bill & Nic rarely make it out to the island. They're not making it to the party on the 28th so I doubt they'd make lunch (but I can mention it to them). We'll be seeing plenty of them New Years Eve / New Years day and they're also visiting us in SF in Feb, so the incentive to come hang out with us isn't there on the 28th.

I'll start a new thread tomorrow to round up the troops. Good luck on the final!
