Anyone gotten fired

I would love to know if anyone has gotten fired from their job for being on LI Weddings too much.

I'm actually hoping to get laid off so I don't have to constantly minimize my screen! This whole 9-5 job thing is really getting in the way!

lol ddune you are a trip.
as i told you jen, i am never on during the day, i simply would have noooo time to go on here from my job. i am on this week because i am off work, but yes someone has gotten fired for being on here..as i was told!

My girlfriend almost got fired for being on Weddingchannel.com. The company confronted her with a printout of her internet usage. The company went so far as to remove all Internet access from her computer.

I don't understand why someone would get fired unless you are just not doing any work at all. That would explain it. I know my boss one day is going to stand behind me (her station is behind me-how convenient

) and say Wanda please get off that website! Either way, I do my work and everything is done early or on time so they can't complain. Plus there are others in my company I know for a fact are consistently on the internet.
I feel so bad for those that did get fired.

This is funny. I am an IT Manager and am one of the people who wrote the company's policy on Internet usage and am responsible for the enforcement of the policy and setting the example. It doesn't say you can't use it for personal use but it doesn't say you can be on it all day like myself! I also know every action I make is logged into our audit sofware (but I know i never looked at it once but my network admin sometimes does hehe). I feel so guilty but as you can see I am addicted so it is hard to keep away. Although I do get my work time, as a manager I know my down time should and could be used more productively. Eve though everyone does it, I do feel guilty ... like as a manager I should know better!

I can honestly say the last 2 weeks before my wedding it did interfere with my work and I did slack due to this site and wedding planning. Hopefully Monday (my first day back) I will go back to normal. Maybe I can ween myself away!
