God I can't stand them. Why do they always have to win??? To me I think a team like that cubs deserved to win the world series or Florida. These are teams that havent one in years and years. But the Yankees??? come the last time they won was in 2000. So they havent won in three years boo hoo cry me a river they only won four in row before from 1996-2000. I can't root for a team like that! It's boring to see them win all the time. And I can't stand Jeter and Soriano, I feel like throwing tomatoes at my TV whenever they are up. Well this distraught Mets Fan is voting for the Florida...So lets go Marlins!!!

GOD BLESS YOU! The only reason I want the Yankees to win is because the Marlins beat my Cubbies!!! The Cubs DESERVED their shot!!! NEXT TIME!!!! I am truly tired of the Yankee reign.....

I am a die hard Mets fan and wanted the Red Sox to win. I hate the Yankees and was very upset last night.
Red Sox vs. Cubs would have been awesome.

I hate when people always say they hate the yankees... It makes me sad....
They worked hard to get where they are, sure they have a huge payroll, but c'mon they are awesome! Florida, how can you root for Florida, they are a lameass expansion team with no history. I wouldve liked to see Chicago win, that was heartbreaking.

The way I see it is the Yankees and Mets are NY teams. If the Mets were in the World Series against the Marlins I would be routing for the Mets to win.
I am a Yankee fan so at a subway series I will be routing for the Yankees. To me as long as a NY team is winning thats all that counts.

First off, not bitter at all. I mean, why be bitter, we accept that we sucked this year and last. I mean hey, do YOU accept that the Yankees will suck again very soon when this team is dismantled?
Now, if you really watched baseball and understood the game, you would know that error had no bearing on the Mets victory. Mookie was running so fast, that he was basically waiting at first base smoking a cigarette before Buckner could have ever reached him anyway. This is one of the biggest misconceptions about this error. So before you decide to pretend like you know what you are talking about, read the history books and watch the game.

YES!!!! Since I'm a Mets fan, I've hated the Yankees all my life. I went to bed after the bottom of the 9th because I knew they'd win and I couldn't stand to watch it!!!
My sentiments exactly! Well, honestly, I do not hate the Yankees, b/c I have cheered for them during years when the Mets were not in the playoffs. But now, I am just plain TIRED and WEARY of the same darn team winning so often...it really makes the whole sport of baseball boring, IMO. And, I am NOT a sore loser - I am USED to my teams losing - after all, I am a diehard NY Rangers fan, too!
And, JMO but, I do not think it is fair to say the Sox & Cubs did not 'want it bad enough.' I think those teams played their HEARTS out...I just think that darn Grady made a terrible mistake last night by not removing Martinez in the 8th inning...he was tired, had thrown over 110 pitches and the Yanks got the best of him....and the rest is history.
More than anything, I wanted to see a CUBS/RED SOX World Series this year b/c those teams have endured LONG histories without a championship. I consider myself a BASEBALL FAN above any team allegiance, and I think a CUBS/SOX match-up would have been so much better for the sport. You can best believe I will not be tuning into the World Series b/c the Yanks will likely win and that is just plain BORING. Yawn!

I am a former Boston girl and can I tell you how happy I was last night when Boone hit that homerun! I absolutely DISPISE the Red Sox... they are a pathetic bunch of guys!
I was so happy not hearing disgruntled Mets fans complaining about the Yankees... it was so quiet when I came into work this morning, and as a matter of fact, it still is.

The truth about that error is exactly as Misty put it....HOWEVER - the Mets in 1986 were a scrappy team that often had come-from-behind-never-give-up-type victories. Their entire season that year exemplifies that AND so did the NLCS playoff series versus the Houston Astros. How many of those games ended in extra innings...or, were you not watching baseball back then?
