I think the ladies are definitely on to it- not enough calories and more protein.

I created an account on fitday.com (THANKS!) and logged in everything I've eaten today and here is the breakout of where my calories are coming from (note to all- I've had LOTS of fruit hence the carbs ratio) and it helped me realize I needed chicken for lunch and I need a high protien dinner. The percentages don't show but it's 20% Fat (green), 22% protein and 58% Carbs (pink). What does your chart look like?

Ladies who do high protein- what percentage do you target? Is 50% of calories from protein too high? Trying to figure out the right number.

it depends on your body weight, but usually between 40-50 grams of protein a day.

sometimes when people diet they cut out alot of things their body needs. Its good to eat healthy but at the same time a balanced diet. If you don't eat enough then your body can go into starvation mode which happens, it simply means the body isnt getting what it needs so it stores fat when this happens, same if you go a while without eating. Since your bodies natural response is to store fat, that explains why some people dont lose weight and wonder why even though they are not eating unhealthy.

I made a mistake when i first started by not getting enough iron. I was feeling light headed and would get dizzy, I found out it was bc i wasnt getting iron. So i made sure to add it to my diet after that and problem was solved.

I used to eat tuna all the time, its a great source of protein. I wouldnt eat it with mayo though bc that will just defeat the purpose lol. I would even eat steak but a small portion and grill it. Also fish in general is a good source, and I would throw that into my diet too. Nuts and beans are great too and nuts are a great snack.

my rule after that was just not to cut out alot of things are body needs. I ate bread but whole wheat or 7 grain. I ate meat but small portions, I also would have some fat in my diet, but ate it early on so i can have the whole day to burn the calories. Lots of veggies and fruits, did eat certain cheeses.

Well you are doing all the right things, so wonder why its not coming off. But you said you did lose alot of weight right, so sometimes you do hit that point where the last few pounds are very hard to lose, happens to most people.

Do you work out? for me if i eat right i do lose weight but not alot, the most results I see are when I eat right and work out.

Yup, I run. Run run run. And when Im not running we're ripping down walls and Im taking on the construction roll

It could just be that LAST TEN

Is WW online a little cheaper than the meetings?

We're weight loss twins- I lost 70 also but have gained nearly 20 back over the past year. I plan on starting WW online. My trainer suggested no carbs after 4pm- lean meat and salad basically. Healthy carbs in the AM and for lunch.

Good luck!!!

It's 17.95 a month for WW online. I don't know the meeting prices. I just do it online.

Hi Jenny. It took me a while to realize this was you!!!!

The best thing I did was eat high protein. Good proteins though like egg whites, fish, nuts, peanut butter, veggies, chicken etc. Then for bread and cereal, I would have only hi fiber whole grain products. Never do I have white bread or potatos or anything like that. Of course, it is very important to drink tons of water and work out 3-4 times a week. To lose these last pounds, add about 10 minutes to your normal cardio routine. That should do the trick! Good luck! 10 lbs can be lost in a flash!

Yup its me

Re: Anyone have a diet plan I can follow thats thoughtless?

I found this to calculate your recommended caloric intake. This is great...getting my butt in gear too

I remember my WW leader saying that the last 10 were the hardest, it took her 8 months to lost the last 10. She said (this was just her) that she believes she was afraid to lose that last 10 for some reason, it was harder than her first 80.

You can do it. Hang in there!
___________________________
Calculate Your BMR
Your BMR is the amount of energy your body needs to function. We use about 60% of the calories we consume each day for basic bodily functions such as breathing.
Other factors that influence your BMR are height, weight, age and sex.

Step one is to calculate your BMR with the following formula:

Women:
655 + (4.3 x weight in pounds) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years)

Please note that this formula applies only to adults.

Calculate Activity
Step two: In order to incorporate activity into your daily caloric needs, do the following calculation:

If you are sedentary : BMR x 20 percent

If you are lightly active: BMR x 30 percent

If you are moderately active (You exercise most days a week.): BMR x 40 percent

If you are very active (You exercise intensely on a daily basis or for prolonged periods.): BMR x 50 percent

If you are extra active (You do hard labor or are in athletic training.): BMR x 60 percent

Add this number to your BMR.

The result of this formula will be the number of calories you can eat every day and maintain your current weightt. In order to lose weight, you'll need to take in fewer calories than this result.

As you lose weight, you can re-calculate the formula to assess your new BMR.

if you do run alot then 1400 calories i think might be a little low. ALSO they say that if you do the same exercise over and over then your muscles get to used to it and its not a challenge anymore since you are working them out the same exact way each time and wont work as much. Thats why they say to change it up and do something new to challenge your muscles again. Do a pilates class, kickboxing or something different. This is something ive read in so many fitness magazines or any advice given about exercise. If you have just the last 10 pounds, then do something different to challenge your body again. I would also throw in weights, when you do cardio you are only burning calories during the time you are working out only. When you do weights and build muscle, you burn fat throughout the day even after you finish working out bc muscle burns fat so as your body develops it you burn the fat.

My bride diet hasn't kicked in yet (I am giving myself the privilege of enjoying the holidays)

BUT, as per Oprah, when I try to lose the last 5-10 lbs, I 'cut out the white stuff' -- no potatoes, no white bread, no refined sugar. Opt for whole grains instead of white bread and rolls. Olive oil instead of butter. VARIETY in the diet is big. I also tend to lose more weight when I cut out alcohol for a while. The South Beach Diet is a GREAT way to jumpstart a diet, and actually has rules that are easy to follow. The first two weeks are BRUTAL though! you can get the book really cheap on amazon.

Per your chart, looks like 75% carbs (pink slice). While I'm sure they are healthy carbs- seems like upping protein will shock your metabolism and kick it into burning mode.
