We want to do dinner up front, then dancing afterward...anyone do something like this? How did it work out?

Would it be rushing it if you did it that way? Will the dinner and dancing be in 2 different rooms?
I know what you are talking about. I am assuming your FH is used to that way, I know it's done in IReland and so I guess it's done in the UK too. But remember they get the room for pretty much the whole night over there. And normally the band plays for part of the night and then a dj comes in and plays for the rest of it so neither are there working for that long.
But if you can have 2 rooms and you don't have to stop the reception to move tables out of the way to dance, then go for it.
To be honest, if I had thought about it I think I might have done that too. Get one thing over and then have fun and dance!

Sorry, maybe it's just becasue I am used to the way we do it here, but I like having the dancing in between each course. It kind of lets your stomach rest a little bit between courses, and lets your feet rest between dancing! LOL.
