Did anyone have the viennese set up without the extra hour? My cocktail hour doesnt start until 7 so I thought having an extra hour for the viennese like most people do and the wedding ending at 1 is too late. But I hope the viennese set up doesnt cut into too much time. Should I add maybe an extra 1/2 hr.?

My FSIL had the viennese hour at the end of her wedding and if i could make a suggestion....
skip the viennese! By that time, everyone was so stuffed that not many people ate anything from there. So it really wasn't worth the extra $. JMO.

We're not getting the viennese hour because after CH and a 7 course meal drinks and cake, we highly doubted anyone would have room in their tummies for anything else. Plus it's late and the x-tra hour is too much. It's a long day to begin with so we opted not to get it.

i dont think we are getting it, with all the food in CH and dinner and cake i thought to put our money elsewhere, we may just make a lil candy bar :)

I am worried about the same thing. My hall does a 'dessert cafe'...it's like a viennese, but it is within the 5 hours. I did want to do an extra hour for the 'jazz hour', but my CH starts at 7:30 and this would make it last until 1:30....too late! Unless I moved up the CH
Maybe you could move yours up to 6:30?

i added an hour on...my wedding is from 7-1. i am having a 1.5 hour cocktail party..and a 4.5 reception....why dont you talk to the catering hall about putting the viennese out at a resonable time, or add the extra 1/2 hour just incase..and if people wanna stay they can and if they wanna leave they can...

Our CH is at 7 and we are adding an hour for the viennese hour. I don't think it will be too late because everyone will be having a good time and it will be fun to have an extra hour and yummy snacks!! FH and I really want it so we got it!!

We are going to add it. It's $10 extra pp. I'm going to print up menus and just put it on the bottom so that people realize and don't leave right after the cake

I opted not to do it. Even the banquet manager said it was usually a waste as it would be too late and not many folks would be hungry. The older folks would be sleepy while the younger ones would be dancing/drinking.

I don't think 1am is too late. My reception ends at 1:30am.

I agree... I am having it and my wedding is from 7-1 & we might add an extra hr if the party is still going. I been to a few weddings with the VH and they are great.

We are having it.. My wedding starts at 7 and will now end at 1. Every wedding I have ever been to that had it every one goes on and on how good it was. Your wedding do what you like.

Our viennese is set up without the extra hour. The hall said they don't do the extra hour. FH wanted it, but I didn't unless it was with the extra hour because I thought it would cut into the dancing. Then I decided, I'm not letting it cut into my dance time.

I am having one, the only gripe I have is that the wedding will end a midnight, I'm hoping to start an hr early so it ends at 11 instead. But every wedding that I went to that had a vienese was AWESOME! I would do it! XOXOXOXO Kitty

We had the vienese hour and it was so worth it no matter how much people eat they always make room for dessert, I sat a watched people literally pig out, and I cant blame them the desserts were amazing.

I'm having the viennese. My FMIL really wanted it so we figured why not. My reception is going until 1:30 so I think the desserts and sugar will help keep everyone partying and awake.
