Someone annoyed me yesterday when I told them that I was not having shrimp at my cocktail hour. It would cost me $7.00pp+ X270 (with Vendors and children). I would rather not have teh extra expense. Instead, I would do the roasted suckling pig (open mothed with apple) display which I think is kind of funky looking for a set price.
This person made me feel cheap...
I just know that for one hour and 8 other seafood items included already, it's just not worth it.
Will my wedding look cheap????

If it was up to me, there would be NONE at mine. I hate Seafood. So whatever the standard is, that's what we are having.

You're definitely not cheap. I'm Kosher, so I'm obviously not having shrimp, but when the issue of a sushi bar came up, which is very costly, we decided to do without it. It's not going to change how much people enjoy our wedding in the least!

I don't think it's cheap at all. We are having shrimp with cocktail sauce as a butler passed hors d'houevre, but it is a choice on the regular menu - it does not cost extra. We are also having sushi, which also does not cost extra. I think the whole cold seafood display is not worth the money. I don't even eat seafood! I'm just trying to choose options (included not extra) so there is a variety.
Get the pig! I think it will be memorable.

Tell them you are doing it in the interest of your guests health...shrimp, crab & lobster are LOADED with cholesterol...
You're such a sweet bride to worry about such things
