Anyone planning on attending their cocktail hour? MY FI wants to, but I know you are not really supposed to. He feels that we are paying a lot so why not!
Also STD magnets...How are you sending them??? Do they come with a card and envelopes or something to mail with them???
If not, how are you sending them? It just seems odd to throw a mangnet in an envelope with nothing with it.

I am attending my CH-alot have people have said its silly b/c then we get introduced at the Reception-i d ont care I wanna EAT!
The STD magnets I think most of the girls sent them out glued onto a card with a poem or saying, you can always do that yourself

We attended part of our cocktail hour and are so happy we did. We were able to see some people and just enjoy our wedding.

I plan to go to my cocktail hour. Its gonna be huge and I want the chance to mingle with some of our guests.
For the magnets I think you just stick something, like a piece of cardboard or heavy paper or something, behind the magnet itself so that it doesn't stick to mailboxes.

heck yeah, we're going!!! i went to a wedding last year and the B&G were at the cocktail hour and i didn't think twice about it... not tacky at all

No, we're not attending the cocktail hour. We have a huge wedding party, so our cocktail hour time will be used up taking pictures!! lol lol lol
I am in the process of doing our magnets right now (takigng a break). But I never even thought about them sticking to mailboxes!! I gues I'll have to figure something out so that doesn't happen

First - I am DEFINITELY attending my cocktail hour. I may even forgo formal portraits entirely to be certain that we don't miss it!
As to the magnets. I bought mine with backing cards and envelopes from agiftfulheart.com - I had no problems with them sticking and everyone got theirs without a challenge. Here is a pic of the magnet on the backing card:

Yes we are going to the cocktail hour. I want to be able to get a lot of the 'hello, thank you for coming' out of the way so we can eat, dance, drink and enjoy the reception. Some people do say it is tacky but it is your day, do what makes you happy.

We are definitely attending our CH. I want to be able to greet & thank my guests so then if we don't make it to a table by the end of the night, we have covered everyone.

We are planning on attending our CH. I am hoping that we will be able to attend at least half of it. Our ceremony is at 2pm and our CH is at 6pm so I hope that we have our pics done by 6pm.
As far as the STD magnets, I would send them with a little note or something. I did not send STD's so I am not positive how to send them, but that was just my opinion. I would not just throw them in an envelop and send them.
