Anyone proposed after you, getting married before you?

My FBIL proposed in November, 3 months after us. They decide they're getting married after us in late '07 or '08. Turns out, they change their minds They moved it up to March '07....3 months later! Mind you, when my FH proposed in August, we wanted to marry in March and everyone thought is was too soon, so we delayed it until July!!!! Now, no1 seems to have a problem w/ that date! I guess that's what happens when I too am getting married a month before my own sister and she's had her date for 2 years now. OH Well........that's familly for you!

Thank-you for the kind engouragment. We really dont know what to do b/c my fiance's brother already said we need to pick antoher date, b/c they will be upset b/c theyve been planning since last year and we just got engaged. Ithink they think we are stealing their thunder...what should we do next? pick another date? we thought August but that leave only 1 month in btw wedings...why again is it the families decision to chose our day????? should we just do it in may and have the families all mad? or try to sit down and explain it ( i dont think it would help)

but we need to act fast b/c i need to order my dress asap if its to happen in may...but my fiance tried to talk to them but i can see they have hard feelings...should we just respect it and get over it???

actually, I will be the one who got engaged later, and married sooner... FH has a few friends who have been engaged for like 3 years and are getting married later on this year... Its not my fault they waited so long! We had a 1 year & 3 month engagement which is plenty of time... and our July 13th wedding just kind of fell into our laps... we didnt really choose it... So we will be among the first married in a group of 3 or 4 friends getting married this year... I didnt realize that people might think something of that...

One of my BM’s got engaged after me and was supposed to get married in July, but they ended up getting married in January . . . it didn’t bother me at all. But I guess if it was more close to home as in immediate family I guess I’d be a little perturbed.

My MOH got engaged 2 months after me and is getting married 3 months before...I wouldn't mind so much if she wasn't soo into her wedding and so not into mine

Well I am on the Flip side...My cousin got engaged 5 months before me and I am getting married 3 weeks before her...We are both in eachothers weddings and are prob having our Bachlorette parties together...
So I guess it depends...
ETA: We are also going to be trying for during the same time so they are close...
For our family it isn't about who does what first or last - It just matters that we are all there for eachother and love eachother
