Re: Anyone using a DOC?
I guess I'm in the minority here. If you are organized and pay attention to detail then I would say you don't need a DOC. I had one for my day and for me it was a waste of money. There wasn't anything she did that warranted paying someone $750. I will say that I was not thrilled w/ my choice of DOC from the beginning. She was hard to reach, took forever to call me back, and after charging me her $750 fee had the nerve to charge me an extra $10 to apply false eye lashes.
One last thing I will say is that I can't tell you how many times I've heard excellent things about Christine from Exquisite Affairs. It seems like she is the quintessential DOC. Maybe if I had had her I would have had a much different experience.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. I actually tried Christine but she is booked... Has anyone worked with Tara from Exquisite Affairs (she's available)? And if so, what's your feedback?

I used one for my wedding and to me it was money well spent. I used Laura from LA Productions (I think she starts around $750). She just took control of everything. I didn't have to think. My mom ended up being so nervous before the ceremony, she couldn't even get me in my dress. Laura was a godsent to her. She even sewed a button back on my bros tux during the photo session. I had a lot of personal details and decor ideas for reception and she made sure everything was set up just right. She even redecorated my cake b/c the florist didn't do it right. After my honeymoon, she told me all the little things that weren't quite right that day. Well, I didn't have a clue. Anything that wasn't right was taken care of before I saw it. I highly recommend her.
I used Laura too and she was fantastic. I had a big wedding also with a lot of details and there was NOT ONE SNAG, thanks to her. No worries at all. Worth every penny. Definitely give her a call.
