Anything wrong with paying final vendor payments early??

Same here-- except everyone is due the day before-- which was the original reason of the post-- if it is due before the wedding-- what difference does a week mean-- ya know?

I don't think there's a problem. I think that I'm going to pay off the reception hall, band and limos b/f that day as well.

I wouldn't pay ahead of time - a lot can go wrong and you have no leverage when you've already paid. Just put it all in labeled envelopes now if you don't want to worry about organizing it later.
ETA: I had MAJOR limo problems and wished I still had money owed to them that I could have held back!! No matter how much research you do or how great you think your vendors are - things can still go wrong!!

I paid the limo ahead of time b/c we were only getting one Rolls Royce and if we paid the day of, we had to give them cash. I trusted that the driver would show up and he did - was early, even.
I also paid for the flowers in advance because they are a company I have ordered things from before and I was confident that their work would be good. Again, however, I got a LOT less than most people do, so the bill was only about $400 anyway.

I'm not paying for ANYTHING in full until i get the finished product. My photograher isn't getting the final payment until I pick up my album, DJ is getting paid during the reception, Limo getting paid onc they show up. NO ONE us getting paid in full for services not yet rendered. If they have all of your $$ you have no leverage

we're going to pay the hall our final payment this weekend, and we have to pay for the flowers 3 days before, i think. we paid the DJ about half and the photogrpaher (except for the 10% due when we get the proofs) this past weekend. we're waiting on limos until the day of.
