are you going to call you new in laws mom and dad? i know my in laws-to-be and they feel like its a respectful to call them mom and dad ... actually my parents feel the same way... i dont want to hurt their feelings ... it just feels weird! but if it makes them happy I prob will!

FH and I were just talking about this last night! He was like, 'Do I have to call your mom Mom?' I didn't know how to respond because I don't know how my mom would feel about that. I personally think I'll call his parents by their first names, which ironically are the same exact names as MY parents! Finally he said, 'Maybe if your mom starts cooking for me more I can call her Mom.'

I call FH's parents by their first names, I think its weird to call anyone else Mom and Dad....

i don't call them anything. i just try like hell to avoid the situation of having to call them by a name.
