I was thinking about decorating my Dad's house for the day of the wedding. Since everyone is getting ready at my Dad's and that's where the photographer is taking our photos first.
But, is that cheasy? Are you all decorating your houses? I don't mean paper decor, or balloons or anything.. just toole on the banister with some pew bows, etc. is that 80's?
please give me your honest opinions please

I didn't even think of that.
My mom just had the entire house painted for the big day for pictures.

Don't want to be a damper...but be careful...I know two people whose housees were robbed...because i guess it was obvious that they were not going to be home..one in BK and one on LI....
One was my friends cousin, so when she got married her parents asked the neighbors to take down the decorations after they left for church....

i actually never thought of this until the florist mentioned it! its so sad but i would be careful about decorating the outside and leaving it up.

I'm not decorating my house, but the house where I'm actually getting married with be decorated. A friend of mine worked at a florist and volunteered to do all the decorating - all I have to do is provide tulle etc.

I'm sure my parents will have everything 'manicured' for the wedding, but I also am having a large floral arrangement sent to the house (it will mirror my CPs), and then be used for my placecard table.

I don't think i'm going to decorate, but my mom is redoing her kitchen, dining room, living room because that is where we are getting dressed and where the photographer will be taking pictures.

Re: are you decorating your house for the big day?
Oh yes...the only reason my mother still lives in New York is so she can decorate this house, and I can 'come out of it' I dont know, shes old school. My parents have an amazing house in Florida, my dad is already there. Mom wants to wait until I am married...I have lived here my whole life, and it means a lot to her.

Re: are you decorating your house for the big day?
As my wedding was July 4th I did decorate the house. We gardened ahead of time but my photographer showed up way early and got me putting minature flags along the path leading to the front door. I also bought bunting from the Dollar Store months before and hung that on the porch... it looked like the pres. was coming to speak...lol. There is a picture of me with my tiara on, regular clothes holding one of the flags... it's the first pic in my album.

Re: are you decorating your house for the big day?
my mom is already giving instructions to our florist about this. we're having an arch with flowers put on the bottom of the stairs, tulle hanging from the banisters both outside and inside the house, floral arrangements in the house...my house is gonna smell like the botanical gardens

My FMIL painted her kitchen in preparation of the big day. She also bought a new couch and plasma screen TV. SHe plans on having some guest come over after the wedding which ends at 6pm.
