Are you having a Viennese Hour or something similar?

Are you having a Viennese Hour or something similar?

I want to have it because FH's family is italian and I feel like they'll be expecting it. But FH doesn't want to spend the extra money and if we did have one then the reception wouldn't end until 1:30am! He feels no one will stay that late so it's a waste. I'm thinking of doing maybe just the extra dessert plates but I think FH's family will think we're cheap.

What about you girls?

We're not doing the viennese hour, but decided to just do a chocolate fondue fountain for $3/guest, so guests could dance and eat and not have it cost a bundle.

We were going to when we thought we were having it at another hall, but where we booked they serve dessert in addition to the cake, and the reception is 7-12 to begin with. Plus, there's so much food between CH and dinner. If we weren't getting that much food and dessert we probably would have had the Viennese.

Rather than do a different dessert, I am having viennese platters on the table and also the wedding cake, I think that should be plenty

We are not having one. There is just gonna be so much food we didnt want to spend the extra money and have all this leftover cake and cookies to take home. So in addition to the wedding cake we are having a Cheesecake martini bar.

We are not doing the viennese hour (although I love them ) We decided to have what they call Parisian Dessert platters along with the wedding cake. We are having a lot of food at the CH & Reception, so I think this option will be good. I am getting hungry just thinking about it!

Our hall gave it to us 'free' but we would have probably had it anyway. We didn't add the hour on to our reception though. We don't have much of a 'dancing crowd' so taking away some dancing time with it shouldn't be a big deal . . . .

We're not- there's already so much food at a wedding, people really aren't hungry for all that dessert in my opinion.

We are having platters of pastry's on each table and a chocolate fountain the hall threw in to go along with the cake.

Originally FH and I didn't want to do it. We were just going to have a fruit platter and a tray of cookies brought to each table.

We decided in the end to include it since pricewise it wasn't much of a difference. The hall didn't charge us more and neither did the band, so we were like ...Why not?

We're doing the viennese, North Ritz calls it the Dessert Cafe. But we are not doing the extra house. They set it up in the cocktail room so people can get their desserts, but you can still dance and the music continues.
