i always see the grandparents introduced
really? i have never seen the grandparents introduced. maybe acknowledged during the reception, but not during the entrances.
I was considering having my grandmother who will be 93 at the time (God willing) introduced, but I have actually never seen it done either. I guess it really is a personal choice.
ive seen it at traditional italian weddings, dont know if theres a connection there![]()
I'm butting in - I'm italian and have been to 8 zillion italian weddings and I do think it's typically an italian thing... b/c italian grandparents are right up there with parents (mine pretty much raised and lived with me) so that's probably why... i don't normally see it at non-italian weddings.
I think it's nice personally but I'm not doing it but I'm probably not announcing anyone.
aha! that's probably why i haven't seen it - i've never been to a traditional italian wedding!
and denise, i knew you weren't mad - that's why i put in![]()
hmmm... FH's family is 100% italian, wonder why they haven't said anything about having the grandmothers introduced?
are they old school italians or americanized? Although most of fh's family is old school and it hasnt been brought up but its probably early and oh wait maybe to them its so common that they just expect it? hmmm i wonder...but actually no fh has only 1 grandparent left and his grandmother is 93 so nobody is gonna expect that
