Are you having kids at your wedding?

Are you having kids at your wedding?

FH & I decided to make it an 'Adult Affair' by only having 21 years and older. Problem is I'm having my two ring bearers and the flower girl attending. Hopefully no one will be offended. For those that are not having kids....How are you phrasing your invitation so your guest can get the point?

i have a similar situation.

FH's niece and nephew are the FG & RB. I have a couple first cousins under the age of 21 and they will be invited.

Other than that, we plan on addressing the invites to only those invited (the adults) lol

we had kids/babies at the engagement party, but i want the adults to really enjoy themselves at the wedding. and, i dont want any babies stealing my spotlight! just kidding but not really.

When your guest start calling you asking why their kids are not invited....what are you answering?

Our invitations are going to say 'Adult Reception'. We are only having our FG who is 5 and her friend there. We are hiring a babysitter in the room right next to ours at the RH if anyone absolutely HAS to bring their child. If anyone asks, I'm just going to tell them nicely that we will be providing a babysitting service if they would like to take advantage of it, but children are not welcome at the reception.

we only have a few poeple who would have kids they would bring, and we have just said directly that the reception is not for the kids.

we have 2 flower girls and a ring bearer, and they are all children of people in the bridal party. But, the parents know and have arranged to have the kids picked up fromthe church.

Don't worry about it - it's perfectly acceptable for you to invite kids you're close with and not others.

We wrote 'Adult Reception' on our invitations. We didn't have any problems.

I have heard other LIW girls who did have a problem with that though - to make it even more clear, you could write on the RSVP cards something like:
'2 seats have been reserved in your honor. I will be using ___ of 2 seats'

'we have a lot of friends and family with children and we didn't want to leave only some out so we decided to make it an adult-only affair.'

and if they keep at it and don't get the hint you can always add

'bc your brats are annoying and i dont want them climbing up the walls of my reception hall. thats why'

just kidding about the last part but if you just make up a B.S answer to begin with they should take the hint.

absolutely having children. All my first cousins are kids. How could I not have them? That would be like excluding 1/4 of my family.

We're having kids and expecting them as part of the guest list. My nieces and nephew are part of the flower/ring bearers, and then the other folks that have kids (which isn't even that many), we're just assuming will bring them which is totally cool w/ us.

having kids...many of my cousins are also under 18 and FH's nieces and nephews are young and I couldn't imagine the wedding without the whole family! their parents will hopefully keep the little ones in check and the older ones will be fun to have!

Hellll no.

If the older kids are invited (our cousins and the ring bearer), we are addressing the invite to the family. Everyone else is addressed to the adults only

Re: Are you having kids at your wedding?

We aren't specifying that it is adult only... we are just simple not inviting children. However, we are being more strict than you. My two nieces are flower girls and even they won't be attending the reception.

Re: Are you having kids at your wedding?

A lot of my first cousins aren't even invited because 1. we are not close with them at all. 2. some of my cousin's kids are closer to me in age. (yea they started young)...

So to make it fair, no kids, except for the ones in the BP

We are not having anyone under 14 unless they are our children. We didnt put it on the invite but we told everyone. also the RSVP card has the names of the people and the number of seats being held for thier family name pre printed. They should get the hint from that
