i dont really bake and think a handheld mixer is good enough for us. Am I the only one who feels this way? I feel like a K A mixer is like 'the' registry item.

Yep, I registered for a KA mixer. I have a hand held one and really really hope that I get the stand mixer. I love to bake and this would come in handy especially at holiday time and when I bake things for work (school).

I don't really bake or know how to cook much, so no. The cookies I bake are pre made pillsbury dough!

nope only the hand held one..from what i've heard (from people who already have them) they hardly ever use it and it takes up too much space

depends on you - i didn't want china never would use it or crystal stuff so i picked a stand mixer. I got it as a wedding present which was great! So far haven't used it (two weeks) but i plan on using it once i quit my second job and i have more time to make things again. I personally love to cook and bake.

FH bought me one for my birthday !!! I was so excited because I really wanted one but thought I'd have to wait for bridal shower. I use it all of the time. Definitely register for one.

Out of all the items on my registry that is the one I am most excited for. It is already purchased and I can't wait to see who bought it for me.
I bake a lot and I can't wait to bake with my new toy. I think I will prominently display it in my kitchen and take pictures with it too hahaha

My mom gave me one, so I didn't register for one... but I would have. I know I won't use it regularly, but, like formal china, it might come in handy once in awhile. JMO

I registered for one but I didn't get it. Reading these posts I'm starting to realize that I will probably hardly use it and it will take up way too much room in my tiny kitchen. A hand-held is fine for me right now.

if you bake and cook.. it is an amazing item.. my mom has always had it so i grew up using it. people usually just bake with it.. but i mix meatballs and meatloaf in it so i dont have to touch the meat.. and i use it to make mashed potatoes, sweet ptatoes, spinach quiche, in addition to all the baking you can do with it.. so for me it was an absolute must have-- it makes life so much easier!

Yes. I've been wanting one since I was like 8 years old. I used to be a mad baker, like crazy. I can't wait until 2010 when i get my life back and am able to start baking and cooking more often.
fh's mom bought it for me the DAY after I registered.... my sister was sooo annoyed b/c I got it for her like 15 years ago when she got married; she was going to reciprocate and couldn't believe it was snatched up that quickly.
that is one appliance i will have no problem leaving on my counter. I might even buy it it's own display case... hm....
