Are you rude?

I saw this on Oprah and thought it was pretty interesting, they said that most people now find there are so many rude people out there. 80% said this but 99% of those people said its not them

they also interviewed a store clerk and was so upsetting to hear how customers treated her, also waiters too and hearing what people do to them

Here are the questions that were asked to the studio audience to see if you are rude. At first i said oh i make sure i am not rude but was surprised by some things

Have you ever interrupted a face to face conversation to take an unimportant phone call? I hate cell phones and hate when this is done, cant remember if i have done this but i usually have people tell me 'just pick up the phone' bc many times i dont. Usually if i pick up its for a reason

Have you let your dog relieve himself on a neighbors lawn? i have no dog

Have you ever stolen someones parking spot? NO i hate this too

Are you chronically late? I make sure I am on time everywhere, I am a bit OCD about this. I went to try dresses on for the first time and I was 5 minutes late for my appt. and I flippeeeeddd out lol

Have you ever stolen someones parking spot? I did , but not on purpose. He stopped like 3 cars ahead of the spot, didn't put his blinker on, and so i took it. He got out of his car and yelled at me lol I moved , but I should've stayed there.

I also am getting so sick and tired of people with their phones, sorry to say. But I hate when I am talking to someone and they are texting and my dh does this and drives me nuts. THen they say 'go ahead i can hear you'

or they always have to have their phones in their hands doing something. people have become too obsessed, even when they dont have to text someone, call someone its like they dont know what to do and play with their phone just to do something

Are you chronically late?i try not to be, but if i am it's usually because i have to pick up someone or waiting on someone that makes me late.

and i am always saying sorry to people even if they are the ones who bump into me without looking, and i find myself getting looked at like i am the moron, when i didn't even bump into them in the first place.

I agree, i mean we all complain but sometimes don't realize we do some things too that others find to be rude.

I thought i was going to pass with flying colors bc i think of other things i guess.

Other things i personally find rude and always make sure to do are: at a restaurant i say thank you each time the waiter brings me anything. Many times im out with ppl and they just continue doing whatever and dont even pay attention that the waiter is bringing them anything.

I always hold doors for others and if someone needs help with something i'll offer

i always say excuse me if i bump into somebody

i dont push people out of the way. Like on a train I HAAAAAATE more than anything when theres a line of us standing and waiting to get on and have been there for a while and somebody comes out of nowhere and tries to cut us all and go in first.

I hate people who run for a seat on the train like its the end of the world if they wont sit. I hardly sit bc i'll always give up my seat for a pregnant women, the elderly, women with children, people with packages. Most people now dont even do that, they sit there and just look at the people and dont care.

I noticed that too after i posted haha

yeah i feel bad about that, i mean they are providing a service and getting you things you want so at least acknowledge them. If they bring me a drink 5x, then i'll say thank you 5x, and each plate of food i get or anything else they bring over.

I KNOW I am always thinking to myself why did I just say sorry- they were the rude ones.

I hated taking the train or subways when I lived and worked in the city. And I like you am small (If I am 5 ft and 1/2 an inch that is tall for me lol so I was always getting pushed and moved aside. I don't understand it. I always thought to myself 'If I can't get on this train it's not a big deal. I'll wait for the next one' BUT so many people need to get on that train like their life depends on it and end up crushing everyone

oh i have argued with SOOO many people who have done this, and if they cut me personally then i say to them straight out 'OH NO I DONT THINK SO' and put my hands in front of them and push myself in front of them and say i was first and not to be an a**hole. One lady got mad when i did this and pushed me while i was walking onto the train my reaction was to elbow her and i flipped out on her. Whenever i take trains i end up getting so upset and argued with people ALOT

Okay. I haven't done most of these things, but I have typed an email while on the phone, and I gossip, although I try not to.

It may seem like I'm trying to say I'm not rude, and that's not the case.

What I DO do is act subhumanly to customer service reps on the phone. God forbid I have to call either a utility, health insurance company, or something like that, and I turn into a completely insane and cruel non-person with no feelings. In addition, my worst personal moment was encountering a meterman giving me a ticket. I can't even repeat what I said about his mother.

Finally, I got my car towed once, (parking in a non-spot), and the mannish lady behind the bulletproof glass at the counter was going too slow for my taste. So of course I thought she was being intentionally rude- I don't remember if she was or wasn't, because I've blocked out the incident. So then I yelled to her, when she was done and as loud as I could 'THANK YOU, SIR'. She looked crushed, and I feel horrible about it to this day.

I'm so ashamed of the above two incidents, I considered posting under an assumed name, but I'm considering it as sort of a confession. At times, I blow.
