At around 45 days did anyone.....

Original post by Future Mulligan

feel blah? about everything?

i think the disappoint/worrying about my dress has a lot to do with it.....

the only thing that cheers me up is when i think about our ceremony - everything else i feel blah about - what is wrong with me?!??!?

worrying that im not going to make a beautiful bride is really taking a toll on me i just have a bad feeling that im going to be one of those brides that ends up hating their hair and make up and dress

Re: At around 45 days did anyone.....

dont worry...i have days when im just like blah and overwhelmed because there is just so much going on and just want the day to be here and for it to just be over.

part of me is soooo over all the details. but u just have to think that itll all be worth it and your day will be beautiful.

i would say wait to what happens at the next fitting....its not too far away. if you still feel the same way...leave with the dress and take it to a seamstress. the dress will be looking like new once its cleaned so definately dont stress over that part. everything will work out.

You are one of the the most beautiful girls on here... not just saying it... I can have have fH verify it too.. lol

at 45 days I had the same feelings, especially about the ceremony vs. everything else. It was actually more about not wanting to deal with anything anymore.

I don't want to step on a sore spot, but what happened with your dress?? Was it too big??

i posted about it a few times - there are A LOT of issues with it

the sold me the worst slip ever - a one size fits all drawstring - it was hanging out at my first fitting - i asked them to sew it in (since this is the only kind they have - which in itself is ridiculous) and they said no they will not sew it in....so i got a new slip on my own but now my hem is going to be too short hopefully it can be undone since my dress wasn't cut - she just made more pick ups

the top is way too big - i was blamed for losing weight for being too small - when she just didnt take it in enough, ive been tiny my whole life - and i didnt lose any weight - i dont know what the problem is

the bustle was done but its crooked! that needs to be fixed along with the new hem

there is bunching in the bodice - its the worst between my boobs - the lining is scrunching inside and you can see it - it looks horrible - and supposedly there isnt anything they can do about it - but we told them they have no choice but to figure it out because it looks like sh!t

the buttons on the back are all messed up - they are sloppy and dont lay flat - another thing they supposedly cant fix - its just the way the dress is - we told them they need to fix that too - she tried but it still looks like a$$

i go for my third fitting 10/31

at my first fitting she pinned it and it looked so nice - except for the slip hanging out - at my 2nd fitting it looked like a different dress - it looked horrible...

oh and everytime i see my dress it gets dirtier and dirtier - its from 'sewing' and that is what happens to all dresses - and not to worry it will be cleaned and pressed the day i take it home - but thats no reason to treat my dress like garbage!

I had SUCH similar problems with my dress...it was one thing after the other and it caused alot of stress. The alterations were horrible and the dress was falling down on my wedding day and did not fit tight enough as I envisioned! When I look at pictures I see it bunching in some areas, etc and am pissed at what a boched up job they did.

BUT this did not stop me from having the BEST day of my life and no one seemed to notice my dress problems! I didnt even notice them on that day! I was literally out of time for any other alterations and just went with it and I honestly loved my dress and so did DH.

omg babe, i was the same way!
The last month, when my dress didn't zip up (until 3 days before the wedding) I was so depressed and I was certain I was going to hate the way I looked..remember my hairstylist passed away too so, I kept picturing myself hating whatever my hair came out like...and since I am not a fan of make up on me and my mom would have killed me if I didn't wear any, all in all, I was convinced of my certain disaster look...

now I'll be honest, I still think I looked like a drag queen bc of he make up, BUT the dress ended up fitting and the woman that I out of the blue picked for my hair, stunned me by what she did with very little indication from me...

now you, when I was going to do my boudoirs, you told me not to worry and I went and they came out ehhhh (not because of Angelica but because of my fat as$)...the following month you went, i told you not to worry and you blew me away, your pics were phenom and this is what i believe you will do again with the wedding!

you are right and that is what i keep thinking - that ill still have fun - i didnt like my hair or make up at our eparty and i still had the best time - i think because its the 'wedding' and ive been waiting for this day for SOOOOO long that is what makes it feel more stressful - its like the anticipation of what i will look like that day is making me nuts i have a dress fitting on 10/31 - i bought a ball gown slip that i love - and i dont care, they are figuring out a way to get it under my dress - and they will have to take down the hem if need be - and im just going to go in there with my FMIL and demand that things are done right....im a pushover and i know it - and its getting close so i dont care, i want to get what i want.....i just wish it was 10/31 already so i could put my dress on and see how it looks with the right type of slip - i feel like 2 fitting appointments were wasted because of the whole slip situation and them not having the right things is not the seamstresses fault - i just wish i would have known to get a slip BEFORE my fittings!! they told me they would help me pick it - meantime they only have 1 kind in 1 size - W-T-F

but thanks girls, im starting to get excited again, it comes in waves of excitement and PANIC its weird.....the other day i was in tears over my dress, i wanted a new one, but last night i was walking around in the slip i bought and i couldnt wait to put my dress back on - i know that where there is a will there is a way and somehow that dress will fit me!

Yup! I still hadn't had my shower yet and I was feeling like I wasn't getting anything done. The month before I seriously went into high gear but I know what you mean about that slump. You will get everything done. It's ok to give yourself a break because in a few weeks everything's going to get crazy. Enjoy it!

Re: At around 45 days did anyone.....

I think that's TOTALLY normal! There's a lot of pressure for just 1 day!! It's one day you worked yourself up for, for..... how long!?? So it's no wonder you feel nervous about all of those things.

I got nervous about that too- that my makeup and hair wouldn't last...... because I scheduled my pictures for 3 straight hours before the ceremony.

Fortunately, everything held up PERFECTLY, even when I was back at the hotel when the whole wedding was over.

Everything will be great! Just keep reminding yourself of that!!

Nicole...totally! I was soooooo mushy/blah/weepy/tired a few months before the wedding. It stinks but I PROMISE you that it will go away....and then come back...and then go away...and then come back. Seriously tho...my emotions were soooo back and forth all the time. Don't freak out. Just remember you are marrying your sweetheart and that's what it's all about. I kept reminding myself of that and picturing myself walking down the aisle and seeing him. That thought kept me at ease!
