Happy Hump day everyone! we are half way through the week!
QOTD: To all the girls who have already chosen there Gown , what elements of the gown made you fall in love with it, was is exactly what you were looking for or did you change your mind on style once you began trying dresses on.
If you haven't gotten your dress yet, what elements are you looking for in a dress, do you have any particular dresses in mind that you want to try on?
Answer: I did choose my dress and i have a deposit on it , its not ordered yet. I was originally looking at rouged bodic dresses with pick ups and i really thought i was going to get a maggie sottero dress. But as i went shopping i decided that i didn't like where the pickups were laying and there wasn't enough work on the dresses. i saw my dress from across the room and asked to try it on, its a ball gown with straps and work everywhere. I feel in love as soon as i put it on!.
I hear all the time. That usually the original dress you think you love you end up not liking on. I hope that isn't the case for me.
I love 3 different maggie sottero dresses. They are my favorites. One of them being the Andrea dress.
I also like a few demetrios and last night while flipping through the knot magazine found more designers with amazing dresses. I guess I really won't know Until I start trying some on. I haven't tried any on yet.
I deff want a ball gown type dress with a loong train. I want beading and bling I love when the dress have a lot of work and attention. I can't wait to go and start trying some on. Looking through the 2011 dress thread their are soo many pretttty dresses and different styles. I wonder what I actually will end up with.
i loved the lace on the bottom and the poofiness of it (suprisingly!!) b/c i was set on getting a mermaid style dress. I also like the pattern on the dress and that it's cream
Havenbt tried any one yet (will start in 2 weeks) but I know I want a dress with straps!! that is a must have!!
I used to think I wanted a ballgown but with the time of year i am getting married and knowing how i always run warm - it's not a good idea.
Something A-lie with lots of details - i find myself liking a lot of dresses with lace aplique's (sp) to them which i would have never thought i would like. I want a decent size train and will def have a cathedral length veil.

I haven't gotten my dress yet but I am pretty set on a sweetheart neck line and something fitted to my body. I love girly details like pleats and ruffles!

I fell in love with this dress because it's just a beautiful and fun dress. I love the ruffles and I love the long train. Also, I found that the sweetheart neckline looks best on me and this dress just happened to have that as well!
As my MOH keeps telling me 'This is such a YOU dress!' and she's totally right.
I am having a hard time with this. I went dress shopping twice and found two dresses I really like.
The first is from david's bridal and has a keyhole back.
The second is a casablance that is more of an a-line with a sweetheart neckline.
I really don't know what look I want to go for.
Oh! Also, I am dying to try on paloma blanca style No. 4065, but I'm afraid I am going to love it and it is going to be too expensive

I originally was hooked on Maggie dresses. I just knew i was going to walk down the isle in one but when i tried them on they really didnt look right on me. I feel in love with my dress because of the pleats in the front, the bottons down the back and the train:

What I'd like to try is a halter or tank (I feel like my boob are on a shelf in a strapless dress) with A-line skirt and a slightly dropped waist.. cause skirts that flare from the natural waist don't tend to flatter me..
I want some crystal abeading and I don't really want the skirt to be satin... I want something more flowy... I have inspiration pics in my album.
BUT, I'm going to be open minded when I go, I'd love to see what a consultant thinks will look nice on me, something I'm not considering perhaps.

Originally I was hooked on a dress from david's bridal but my mom wasn't fond of it so I agreed to go outside of David's bridal to try in dresses...
I went to Lillettes and worked with Geri. She must have put like 10 dresses on me before I put my 'dream dress' on.. As soon as I walked out and looked in the mirror at myself in this dress, the butterfly feeling I got in my stomach was incredible.. and my mom got tears in her eyes and came over to hug me and said, this is the one. Thats when I knew this dress was the one..
It had the elements I wanted, sweetheart neckline, long train, and lots of beautiful detailing.
I still get butterflies when I go back to try it on and I am happy to say I am still in love with it

Re: @@@@@QOTD@@@@@
I havnt ordered but this will prob be the dress. Just puffier at the bottom
I love it becuz I envision myself looking HOT and SEXY that day... im not really into the princess ball gown for me... I do want the dress much puffier knee down, but chest to knees i want a very fitted dress
I havent started looking yet... but the amount of pics i have ripped out of bridal magazines i should be ok... ( i think at least)
I am really looking for a dress with a corset style top and a bussled skirt.. i have really big hips and a huge tush ( FH loves it LOL) so i feel like it will hide my lower half really well....
I love the Maggie Sottero Krystalyn Marie and McCall and Brielle.. those are my 3 favs. just by looking at them... we will see how they look when i try them on....
I cant wait to start shopping... hopefully then i will really start to feel like a bride

I feel like you and I are in the same boat. I have some serious junk in the trunk or as one person called it 'shelf booty' so i like the corest idea to keep everything together. I love a couple of Maggies and that is where I will start my gown search!
