Original post by dmlentz

Hey girls! I'm getting married August 10th. Who else is getting married in August or close to me?

Im wondering what is up next on your to do list. I have most of my major vendors booked. I wanna start my DIY projects but IDk what I can do this early?

What do you girls have left to do ?

August Brides

I had such big plans for the weekend, but didn't get much done. We met with some florists, so I think we decided who we will book with. But, we were also supposed to do wedding bands and buy FH something to wear for our engagement photos next week, but ended up having a lazy day yesterday so that didn't get done.

On Friday, we went to a wedding at Crest Hollow, so I feel like that was kind of a check, because we made note of things that we definitely want/don't want at our wedding.

I'm also having a tough time picking favors. I really don't want to do something edible or a candle, and can't find anything that I like that is simple and useful. What are you all doing?

Finally making some progress...

STDs have finally gone out.
DJ finally booked.
Honeymoon booked.

Talked to a hotel about a room block, but they haven't gotten back to us. I feel like that needs to be set before we pursue limos.

After those: next up are flowers, hair & make-up, veil and accessories...

UGH! SO much left to do.

QUESTION: When are you sending out your invitations? What's your RSVP date? Do you have a 'B' list? (We're DIYing the invites, so we have no one to ask and don't know how soon we should be looking to send them.) TIA!

Awesome! Where are you going on your honeymoon? Once we booked ours, whenever I get overwhelmed by how much there is to do, I just think about Hawaii and how relaxing it will be.

I put my RSVP date about 1 month before my wedding, and plan on mailing them out 1 month before that. (Yikes, thats 1 month from now!) I don't have a B list so everyone will have the same date. Since you are DIY, maybe make your A list 6 weeks ahead and your B list 3 or 4 weeks? It depends on how late you want to give out your B list invites and how far in advance your hall needs the headcount.

I'm sending out my invites at the end of May (3 months before) because we didn't do STD's. My response date is July 1st for an August 24th wedding. We sorta have a 'B' list and we DIY'd our invites so we can print some more response cards with a later date if we decide to go to that list. HTH!!

Thank you for your responses!!

We booked St. Lucia for the honeymoon! FH and I are going through a LOT of family drama at the moment, and we keep looking at each other and asking, 'Can't we just go NOW?'

Checks!
Booked flowers
Purchased wedding bands
Had our E-shoot :)

Best of all, we met with our contractor who said he should be able to have our apartment ready for us to move back home before the wedding. It was a VERY good weekend.

I know it's way early, but we are sending out the invitations this week. I originally wanted to wait until late next month but FH insisted we do it now. At least I can concentrate on my DIY projects in the coming months. Time is flying by!!!!

Just wondering if anyone has scheduled their final meeting with their RH yet? If I remember right, the meeting is about 2 months before but I don't know if they'll call us or if I have to call them to schedule it. I'm starting to panic about how little time there is.

No I didnt sched any thing yett. I figured when we give our payment about 10 weeks before the day we will have to sched something. I should prob contact them tho. I've been slacking !

Omg, its crazy! We've been having all our final meetings to set the details. Last week we met with the florist to pick flowers and the RH to pick the menu, linens, etc. This week was my 2nd fitting, I ordered our favors and we met with the DJ. I booked my facial for 2 weeks before the wedding and I'm gonna start my Crest white strips in a few days. I'm still hunting down a few slackers for RSVPs and then we can start the seating chart.

I still have to DIY (well with the help of my mom and MOH who are both crafty) the cardbox, menus, programs, table numbers, escort cards, etc, but my MOH already started working on my programs and table numbers. I'm also working on my lists for must-take photos and what to bring/take home from the hall.

What else do we need to be doing a few weeks out? I feel like I'm gonna forget about something until its too late! What have you been up to and what is left for you?

I have to still order the parents gifts and groomsmen gifts. My menu picking is later this month and second dress fitting on July 31. Getting marriage license on the day we are picking the menu. Florist apt on July 28 and they want to know head count but I'm not getting many replies back. I have to get a white basket and put all the bubbles in there for the church and figure out how to assemble the pew bows. There's more just exhausting even typing about all that is left to do.

Re: August Brides

We're almost done with menus and my mom has created the program. I just need to finalize the songs with the music director at church so that we can print those.

I still have left:
-place cards
-seating charts
-hunting down response cards (only about 20 missing)
-table numbers
-OOT bags
-favors
-card box
-fittings
-RB outfits
-ALL final meetings!!

That list makes me nauseous!! It's 6 weeks from tomorrow and there's still so much to do but I'm getting SUPER excited!!!

Still need to do church flowers, print programs, menus and place cards, OOTBags (once I get a final count), favors, attach comb to veil, fittings and marriage license..

I also need to stop adding projects to my list! :)
