Is anyone else worried about the bachelor party? I have heard SO MANY bad things (guys having sex with strippers or other sexual things.) I feel like everyone thinks I am crazy for worrying.

Re: Bachelor Party
I am worried too. I completely trust my FI but am nervous about his friends and their actions. I've heard both sides of the argument but am still nervous.

I am a little nervous about this also. I trust FH but not his friends. I am against the whole stripper thing.

Re: Bachelor Party
I think it's normal to be a little nervous or feel some discomfort about the Bachelor Party even if you trust your FH 100%. You are not crazy.
I think if you all start worrying about this now, you're going to drive yourselves crazy. Plus, have a little faith in your FH. Did you watch Trista and Ryan's wedding last night? He was totally drunk but still knew enough not to go with the strippers because he was thinking of Trista. Plus there were lots of guys at the bachelor party who didn't even stay in the room when the strippers were there. I think we tend to underestimate our guys sometimes
Maybe you should have a rational, mature discussion about it with your fiance before hand. You might be surprised as to what he has to say. Mine isn't even interested in going to a strip club. He says Hooters would be fun!

Re: Bachelor Party
Honestly I'm not worried and mine is going to New Orleans (during Mardi Gras) for his bachelor party. I also trust his friends and family that are going with him.
When I was with my ex boyfriend, I had absolutely NO trust for him or his friends and worried about every little thing he did and drove myself nuts. I will not do that to myself ever again. Plus, there's no reason to now b/c FH is trustworthy (or else I would not have said 'yes' when he proposed)
You just have to trust that your FH will do the right thing and that he will not listen to his friends (if they steer him wrong). Try not to worry, b/c you will drive yourself nuts.
Good Luck

Re: Bachelor Party
My FH's friends are all single. They're not crazy party animals. But they've all been teasing me about the bachelor party they're planning. I do however want them to do something nice for FH, but to me something nice doesn't include a bj from a stripper!!! (Which is the worst in BP horror stories that I've heard.) P.S. Girls, don't underestimate the power of opportunity. Especially when coupled with the power of alcohol.

The bachelor party is not the firt time for 'opportunity' nor will it be the last for men (& women). Bottom line, if you have complete trust - in both him and you - then you have nothing to lose. However, if you choose to think about 'horror stories' - true or fabricated - you will lose your sanity and begin to creaete scenario's that don't exist.
I really do think Marcela gave great advice on this...

Re: Bachelor Party
With regards to opportunity, true, it's always going to be there. But for the most part men are not in situations on a regular basis that might allow for things to happen. God knows--> THINGS happen! I am standing by what I said about the power of opportunity and the power of it coupled with alcohol. I'm not worried about my FH, nor am I saying that anyone else should worry. We all have to deal with our relationships in a way that best suits us. It's so individual, impossible to generalize.

Ok, well since I am thinking of horror stories, how do I stop? I don't want to make myself crazy (which I am!) for the next 10 months!!!

Re: Bachelor Party
pinkgirl, only you can make them stop! You have to think to yourself, do you really have good reason to believe that things might go awry at a BP? Does your FH go out alone without you now? Do you worry NOW when we goes out? It's so easy for people to say to you: 'Don't worry' But if you're worried, you're worried. When is his BP? I'll hang out with you that night

Re: Bachelor Party
awwwww, CIMINOK, yu are too sweet. Well, I told him that the bachelorette party MUST be the same time. As for your questions, he never goes out alone (maybe once every 6 months to a movie with his friend) but he has a checkered past. Let's just say that he has fulfilled almost every male fantasy there is (while in his 20's-he is 31). He thinks that should make me NOT worry cause he isn't looking for anything. But it DOES make me worry.

Re: Bachelor Party
OKay if we all think that our FI havent have the opportunity before the bachelor party, we are fooling ourselves. Unless you are with your FI literally 24/7 there is opportunity presented, at work, out with friends whatever.
THat being said, I compeltely trust my FH. This is not the first time in his life he will see strippers! And I know that even coupled with alcohol he would not do anything to jepordize our relationship.
I think that if you are worried he may stray on the BP then there may be some other issues at hand.
ETA: Keep in mind that he has this past but he CHOSE you! over all of that! and it sounds as if his checkered past is just that....his PAST. Try to keep that in mind!

Re: Bachelor Party
Thanks Colleen! I agree with what you 100% also.

Ciminok: If I had any doubt that FH would be unfaithful b/c of alcohol, I would NOT have said yes. I do NOT believe that alcohol is an excuse. When I was younger (and not with FH) I had gotten durnk and a friend of a friend tried to kiss me. Although I was drunk, I yelled at him and told him to back off. Thus, I know first hand that being drunk and cheating is not an excuse (at least it won't fly in my book!) And like CP said, men (and women) have opportunities ALL the time..I just trust FH and our relationship enough to know that he won't jeopardize what we have for a fling. Nor would I and he knows that. I already know what it feels like to be in a bad relationship and not trust the other person. So I would have NOT dated or become engaged to FH if I felt that he was not trustworthy.

Thank you - that was what I was trying to point out (NyQuil makes cohesive thoughts difficult at timet though )
I think the 'power of alcohol' is an excuse - something someone uses when they're trying to backpedal out of something stupid that they did - most likely, something they thought about doing without alcohol. JMO though.
