I'm sorry to post this on our happy board, but my boss was let go today as part of my company's cost cutting. He was pretty senior and thats where the cuts were this time. He's a wonderful man with so much knowledge, but in the end he was a salary on a page to senior management
I'm not upset yet, still in shock...

Yes he is invited to the wedding and I hope he still comes. Its 2 months out....we'll see. He hasn't responded yet

I know how upsetting these unexpected changes can be. I hope they at least took care of him with a nice package. Is he older? can this be a nice early retirement?
DH's company went through major lay-offs 3 weeks before our wedding...we had 4 unemployed guests at the wedding...and they really enjoyed it...
then 1 month later DH was laid-off 1/3 of the company all around the wedding

Sorry to hear the news. Unfortunatley in this economy everyone is just a number and money talks. I hope he still makes your wedding

sorry to hear that! FI was laid off about 2 months and half ago ... to add more stress to our wedding plans. So far, there are not jobs in his area, and he is applying for jobs anywhere in the world. This is a horrible time in the market
