I just noticed my wedding is in May and my ceremony will be outside however it starts at 730... originally I thought this was perfect we would get sunset... NOPE...IT WILL BE FREAKING DARK!!! I just looked it up and sun sets around 7pm in May a half hour before my ceremony would start!
Also I dont want FH seeing me prior to the ceremony so any pictures of us and us with our family will be in the dark
The even bigger problem is the whole reason we chose our RH is because we loved where our ceremony would take place with the harbor right there and whats the point if its going to be dark!! and why did THEY not realize this...im sure im not the first person to want a saturday evening wedding in May.
Now I don't know what to do we cant get married in a religious place bc were different religions... ughhhhhhhh
Im sooo upset now and stressed I know I have plenty of time to figure this out just disappointing
any thoughts?!!!??

exactly...does your RH have more than one event at a time? I know that some of the RHs that are only one event will let you come in whenever you want. The RHs with more than one event stagger the times and rooms, so you may have to change your room for an earlier time...definitely speak with your BM.

It's only one wedding at a time, but we chose the later time I think they try to book another event earlier...
But ]since FH is the calm cool collected one outta the 2 of us he's gonna call them and try to figure something out... hopefully we can get our ceremony around 6ish if not ill cry and then find somewhere else to have our ceremony

Lots of couples get married at night so it's not the RHs fault you wanted a sunset wedding unless you specifically asked for it. They usually have sunset scheds avail to see.
Is it that important to have a sunset? Im sure they light it perfectly.

It's not really the sunset that mattered...It wouldve been nice but mostly I would like there to be some kind of sun light since its on the water.. it being on the water and people being able to notice its on the water is extremely important, its what im paying a crap load of money for!
I'm not really blaming the RH, I'm totally at fault too but I think with the thousand visits/phone calls, etc and that I stressed FH CANNOT see me prior and that I would be taking all pictures there during CH they couldve been like hey dummy it'll be dark!

I completely get why you want some daylight then. I would have loved an evening wedding but every venue we're looking at is on the water so we're in the same boat. We have no choice but to have an afternoon wedding bc of it

Oh, definitely take your time, take good notes, think things through and do it right! I know there's a couple of us 2012ers who pushed our dates back for different reasons, but now, I'm definitely paying closer attention to everything.

Seriously, don't worry! Sunset on May 12, 2012 should be around 7:45 or 8pm. Definitely not 7pm. (I looked at both the almanac-type sites and the jewish sites. they agree). Plus, consider how long it takes from sunset until it's actually dark outside. I'm sure your RH has lighting that turns on at dusk.
We had to do a Sunday wedding because sunset is so LATE in May.
Thanks! FH looked some stuff up and he found 745-8pm also, the couple of sites I looked at didnt account for daylight savings.. who wouldda thought, im still gonna see if they can push it back to around 630 but I admit I got a little nuts last night when I saw 7 lol

AHHH omg you just scared me because I have the same issue now!! hmm... I am going to pay VERY close attention to the sunset next May 18th, and you should as well.. If it is too dark then at least you have another year to decide on what to do! It will all work out dont worry!
