Band or DJ? Anyone have recommendations and quotes?

Hi all,

We are trying to decide between a DJ and a band. I do think bands are great, but I'm not sure it's worth $6k+ to me. Anyone have recommendations for reasonable bands or really great DJs? We were thinking of having mostly classic rock/ 80s music.

Tommy Tunes!!! they're awesome, my sister had them and I booked with them as well. I thought about going the band route but there are some songs that they wouldn't be able to recreate that were a must have. I'm having a guitar vocalist for cocktail hour from TT

We had a band....Timepiece through Franklin Wayne. They were PHENOMENAL and very reasonably priced!

we booked with bravura- we have a cocktail hour band and a dj/mc/live singer at the reception- they are great so far

We are booked with LI sound - I have been to a couple of wedding that used them and they are awesome and they really worked in our budget.

We booked complete wedding packages in east Meadow. No ones prices were as competitive as theirs when it came to a dj. They even added some instruments to be used alongside.

We booked a band. We went to three show cases and 2 dj show cases. In the end we felt a band was what was best for us. We couldn't be more pleased. We are paying 8k for the band. Ultimately we decided that we would go for it. My parents are paying for the band. Had they not been we may have chose a dj to be more mindful of a budget. We both love music and I think that this is FH's big thing so to me it didn't matter! Hope this helps! if you want reviews let me know

We booked with bravura. We have a band/DJ combo for less than $6k. We truly feel we have the best of both worlds. They are amazing!!

We are using double image out of Westchester. They are amazing!! And won the knots best dj awards. They are really affordable too.
