So... I have my bank... which has been bothering lately! Two times they have had security issues and had to cancel everyone's check card and reissue... so currently it's cancelled and I have yet to receive my new one so I cannot access my money without driving 10 miles to the nearest branch!!!!
FI has his bank and we set up a joint account and they are ticking us off right now too!!! The tellers are dimwhits. FI has his personal and business account there and now with our wedding account they cannot name them so I have to to memorize account numbers when I go make deposits... Are you forkin' kidding me!!!
Then there's the bank is up the block and we both literally drive past it 3 times a day at least!!! We have no experience with it but may try it out for the convenience factor.
Anyone have pleasant/negative experiences with the following and please explain!!!!!

Everyone is sickenly nice and they are open 7 days a week. I have one near my apartment and one near work so it is really convenient.
Another vote for Commerce!! I switched to them from WAMU!!!
It also upsets me because FH wants me to switch to his bank for the joint account!! (He has Bank of America)
Oh, and if you have a dog in the car and you go through Commerce's drive thru windows, they give you doggie treats!!!
I have commerce to and I love them!! they are all over the place!!

I use Bank of America, before that Fleet, and before that National Westminster . . . yes, I've actually been banking with the same bank that long!!
I've never had any major problems at all. They replaced my ATM card with a temp one the day before I left for Australia (long story on why it needed replacing), there are branches everywhere.
As for Commerce - I hate Commerce Bank - but hey, that's just me. What I can say about them, is they have the lowest interest rates of all banks on LI.

I use my Credit Union upstate. Their deal surpass all Banks.
BUT...since the convenience factor isn't there DH & I set up a joint account at WAMU.
He had an Astoria account that is HORRIBLE!!! Talk about lack of customer service and getting charged for THEIR mistakes!

Commerce! They aren't kidding when they say America's Most Convenient Bank.
Free checking! Gotta love it.
Commerce is all over the island now. If you go to their website, commerceonline.com you can find the closest bank to you. It's worth it!

WAMU all the way......it's convenient for me living in NYC. There are branches all over. And I like their free checking.
I have an account their as well and I have not had a problem with them at all. I also have an account with FH at another bank (his bank - BOA).

Commerce does seem to be sprouting up all over the place and they have excellent hours.
Personally, I use HSBC, I love them they are great, especially since they have branches all over the world, I went to London two years ago and didn't have to pay fees, I went to Vancouverin the fall and didn't have to pay fees, its great.

They have a lot of hidden fees that I'm aware of. They cater to employees, but we're not even safe. FM me for more info
