Banks - Please vote for your favorite...

So... I have my bank... which has been bothering lately! Two times they have had security issues and had to cancel everyone's check card and reissue... so currently it's cancelled and I have yet to receive my new one so I cannot access my money without driving 10 miles to the nearest branch!!!!

FI has his bank and we set up a joint account and they are ticking us off right now too!!! The tellers are dimwhits. FI has his personal and business account there and now with our wedding account they cannot name them so I have to to memorize account numbers when I go make deposits... Are you forkin' kidding me!!!

Then there's the bank is up the block and we both literally drive past it 3 times a day at least!!! We have no experience with it but may try it out for the convenience factor.

Anyone have pleasant/negative experiences with the following and please explain!!!!!

wamu... but it does have hidden fees... I never go to the atm! its like 3 fees... Thinking of changing.. just dont want the hassel!

the one thing that does bug me about WAMU is their tag line 'the buck 50 stops here', but that only applies to NON WAMU customers. if a WAMU customer withdraws from Citibank or any other ATM we get charged by both the other bank AND WAMU!

so basically, they treat non-WAMU clients better?

Yeah It S*cks! - They also charge you 5.00 membership fee along with another atm fee of 2.00 per month.... I had the 5.00 fee taken off. its something like insurance... oh well.. to me they S*CK!!!!!!!!! just be sure to check your statements very carefully girls!

I use Washinton Mutual beacuse they are all over...I guess I have the same feeling as Andrea I used to work for HSBC and I said they will not keep my money.

Former WAMU account holder here.. HATE THEM!!

Right now I have Citibank, because I get lots of free stuff because I have CitiWorks whatever from my job, but I have been researching this for awhile now.

If your a big online banker the top three are

1) Commerce
2) Bank of America
3) Citibank

For us it looks to be coming down to Bank of America and Wachovia (middle of the pack with online banking) but they have good rates on their savings accounts. Another plus all of the above banks have free checking with direct deposit, Bank of America and Wachovia also offer free bill pay with direct deposit.
