Bathroom Remoldeling Question? Please help!

Hi,

We are in desperate need of getting our bathroom redone before the baby comes... I always see the ads for those one day remoldeling jobs on the bath tubs..

Is it worth it. I know they are expensive... Is it cheaper just to get a new tub? Does anyone have any experience with them?? Thanks,
Denise

P.S. We only have one bathroom, so the idea of a one day job sounds GREAT!

Biggest concern with a new tub is removing the old and putting in the new. They do not fit through a normal door opening.

I didn't think of that. So a bath fitters type place is the thing to do??

Can you give me a recommedation?

We did this through Century 21 (similar to Bath Fitters)--the end results were very nice, but they LIED about it being a one day process!!! It took two full days to actually do the work (shower/tub & bathroom walls), plus the two days that I had to take off from work when they showed up and realized that they couldn't start the work as well.

I suppose its still quicker than regular bathroom remodeling, and the price is right!

Would you mind telling me what you paid?

I am also concerned with mold or mildew seeping through from the old tub? Have you found that to happen yet?

We have a hugh iron tub that will be a real you know what to remove!
