I registered at BBB this weekend and was wondering if it is their policy that a bridal associate walk around with you while you register?
After the lady inputted my infor into the system she said that how they do it is that she walks around with me and scans my items so I don't have to worry about the item scanning wrong, or if I need to delete something, etc. I thought I was going to go there get the scanner and browse on my own. It was very uncomfortable and annoying. On top of that the lady kept making me feel bad for wanting a cheaper item and would say things like 'don't worry about prices, your not the one buying it' WHAT?!?
Did anyone else have this happen? Do all BBB do this or is it just the one I went to???

I went through this same thing. The woman said she would scan a few things to show me how to use the gun. She ended up walking around with us for the entire time and scanned stuff i didnt even want. she annoyed us so much we told her we had to go just so we could leave. I went back and fixed it about 1 week later
ME TOO! It happened that I went to Fortunoff right before BBB and when I told them that, they're like oh you should register for 24 sets (DOUBLE) of your everyday dishes and fine china so it'll be certain I get everything I asked for. 24 sets??? Sorry, no. She wouldn't leave me alone either and my mom and I kept making faces to each other about her! We left and I fixed everything online.

When I went, the girl entered my info while I picked out my china pattern. By the time she was done, I had it down to two. She got a cart and set them both up with my choice of placemats and I could tell right away which one I wanted. Then she wheeled it over to the silverware and helped me pick that out. Same with napkins, napkins rings, and stemware. By then, I had a complete set up of how my table would look! She then showed me how to use the gun and took me through a super quick walk around pointing out the better quality items and giving me tips on a few departments. Then she sent us on our way to do the rest by ourselves while she entered all the china I had picked. She added exactly what I wanted and overall I had a great time.

yes there was a woman walking around with us but i think she knew that we felt annoyed w/ her as she was following us and suggesting things so after a half hour she left and let us do stuff on our own

Re: BBB Registry Question - Is this Normal VENT
OMG!!! They did this to us 2 weekends ago too!!! I could not stand it. She brought us around to everything to 'make sure' we put everything we would need and not leave anything off as well as putting stuff on it that's in all different price ranges! I was furious. We spent over 2 hours with her and I just started yessing to death just tog get it done and when we got home, we took practically everything off. I mean, at times, we looked and had said yes to bath towels and wound up with fingertip, hand, washcloths, etc. We didn't agree to all of that!!!
All I wanted to do was get out of there and I asked my FH, isn't this supposed to be fun??? It sure wasn't!!! Well, we don't have much of a registry there now, and I am so disgusted by that! To BBB workers who walk around with us: I don't need to hear 5 minutes about what you have at home or what you use and like for each item!!!!!!!
Ok, vent is over...back to normal...hehe!

Re: BBB Registry Question - Is this Normal VENT
you just need to tell them no thank you. Thats what I did. She helped us with our china and then we told her that we have it from there on out. Next time just tell her thank you anyway but you can do it on your own

Re: BBB Registry Question - Is this Normal VENT
I went to the bbb in westbury and this did not happen to me. a woman went over the china with us and then showed us the pots and pans in the kitchen section, then she left us on our own.. she was really nice, but i would have been mad if she stayed with us the whole time. maybe it's a new policy.. this was last summer.

The lady stayed with us while we did our china, which was kinda annoying. I'm so glad she left us alone though..I don't know how I wouldve handled having her with us the ENTIRE time with registered. Mucho annoying.

Re: BBB Registry Question - Is this Normal VENT
I came VERY prepared with a list of everything i needed and explained that I had been living on my own for quite awhile now. The lady just gave us a tour and pointed out some tips to us. I'm sure it's a money-making ploy to introduce us to the more expensive items, though some things she said made sense and were helpful. The tour took a lot longer than we thought, and poor FH was STARVING by the end, and we didn'tget to half the store before we had to leave for dinner! I agree that they should give a shorter orientation and leave you on your own!

Re: BBB Registry Question - Is this Normal VENT
I went to both the Manhasset and Smithtown BBB and they wern't like that at all! The woman at the Manhasset BBB Walked around the store with us to show us the different sections, and popular items and then left us to do the scanning!
The woman at Smithtown asked us if we knew how to use it, we said yes, and off we went!
If you are not happy with the people at a specific BBB, go to another one because you want to have a fun time when scanning! :) I know we did!
Have fun scanning!!

Re: BBB Registry Question - Is this Normal VENT
I had a strange experience as well. My fiance and I asked if we could do it on our own and they said no. I felt very rushed and pressured! I ended up just registering for everything to shut the woman up and deleted a bunch of it at home.
