BCP: Loestrin 24

Thoughts... the good the bad the ugly.. if you feel more comfortable FM'ing go for it.

Good: very very light periods

Bad: I get kind of hungry if I take it in the AM, so I usually take it before I go to sleep.

Ugly: breast swelling/tender!

im on that - gained weight.....could be from all the Mike and Ikes I have been eating or the fruit loops not sure.

no side effects though.....aside from this, I used to use ortho-tri cyclen lo.....

Thanks JayBee... Did you find any weight gain with it? I always took my BCP at night too so Im good there

OMG I just stopped Loestrin 2 months ago.

I NEVER had a problem with my period on ANY other BCP...Loestrin made my period completely stop and literally turned me into a raging lunatic.

My periods are still completely irregular and my hormones are still off the charts MY BFF had the same issues and would bleed for weeks at a time on Loestrin.

I did feel like I maybe gained a little...but again it could be b/c I moved in with FH and we like to eat!!!

hmmm mixed reviews... well I have never been one to get a heavy period anyway so that is in my favor I guess. I already am a raging leunatic so that isn't a concern either

I am still undecided about trying it.

My periods have been lighter since I've been on it but It makes me realllllllllllly cranky. I was on Ortho tri cyclen lo for almost 10 years, and I never had problems w/ it but I switched bc of breakthrough bleeding. My GYN put me on Loestrin and immediately I started feeling really irritable. She told me to give it some time but it never went away. I've been too lazy to switch bc I don't want to have my body 'adjust' to another type of pill. I might see if I can go on something else though when I see my GYN for my next annual. FH hates it!

After 2 months on Loestrin, I called my doctor in a panic and said 'Loestrin is making me crazy. I don't mean irritable, I mean CRAZY...like I want to beat the crap out of someone and laugh about it' She told me to come in ASAP and put me on Yaz...I stayed on it for 2 years and now I'm on nothing

i'm sorry but

was put on it last month due to Ortho_tri not exactly working anymore (cramps, acne, heavier periods, etc, etc).

a. insurance does not fully cover this one so it was $35 as opposed to $10.
b. major cramps
c. bleeding when i shouldn't have, didn't bleed when i should've
d. mood swings

ok so now i'm on generic of Loestrin (Microgestin 20) this month and :

a. not so many cramps but occasionally
b. haven't gotten my period when i shouldn't have
c. mood swings

i'm going to give it a shot for a little longer
