Bed, Bath, & Beyond Registry Weirdness?!

HI Girls- so I check my registry a few times a day. All of a sudden from last night, it went from 20-30 gifts, which is odd. So I scroll down, and there are items shown as being purchased that I NEVER PUT ON THERE?! And weird things too, like special mouth rinses, etc. There are a bunch of Harmon items put on there. Also a monogrammed towel with my new initial, but I never put in on there.

I'm confused- how can this happen? Did people buy these items and asked that they be put on my registry.. b/c I would think this cannot be done. I am getting ready for work now so can't do anything but I asked my fiance to call BBB later and find out whats going on.

Any ideas? I don't want to remove these items b/c I want to get to the bottom of this. Plus it shows these items as being purchased, anyways.. so no one can buy them thinking we want them.

Over the weekend, I had one item purchased that I didnt request on my registery. It was a cocunut kerig cup??? And we dont even have a kerig???

im wondering if maybe someone purchased something from ur registry....but their other personal items for themselves got added when they were rung up?

EXACTLY! Just spoke to my mom about that. Because it did say
0 for # requested. So someone probably purchased the grill that shows as being purchased, and maybe the 'D' towels b/c it does make sense.. the D towels show that 2 were bought but 0 were requested.. then maybe the cashier wasn't the brightest and she put all the Harmon items on there too! I just didn't realize that things were able to show up on our registry even if we didn't put them on there.. but I guess thats why it shows 0 requested for that item...

I deleted the Harmon items but left the towels there.

When people buy off your registry they give the barcode to the person ringing them up. Even if there are some things that aren't on the registry, when they are being rung up, they will be added to the registry. Some of the BBBs give cash back (only some still do this) if it's on your registry so I wouldn't take it off.

Does this makes sense? Ok, example. So I'm buying your stemware. But while I'm a BBB I bought myself a dish towel and a wooden spoon (neither on your registry). When I go to the register, I hand the cashier your registry so that the item that I am buying comes off. She rings up all the items I am buying so there for now my wooden spoon and dish towel are on your registry.

I think they may have had the cashier scan the registry & the item that they purchased (that wasn't on the registry) isn't actuallly being added to it but just the items purchased list.

if someone is buying you a gift off your registry along with other items - all the items end up on the registry - you can just go on and delete them off...

This happened to me a few times as well. Flipz chocolate covered pretzels got bought off my registry but I never put them on there. I never got them at my shower either, so I guess one of my guests got hungry while they were buying my gift

If you see things on your registry that you havent put on there, what happens is that then the person who is purchasing off your registry and they bring the printed registry paper up to the register.. whatever they buy, will come off your registry and as well as any other items they are buying even if they are not on your registry.

I had my bridal shower and i saw some items on my registry that i did not put there, but the person that bought stuff also bought me other items and so the girl at the register scanned the printed registry and all the items whether they were on the registry or not.

It's because people bought those items in the same purchase as items bought from your registry.

So they bought you your towels, and bought themselves dry foot cream and scan your registry, all of it shows up on your registry

I've heard that when people buy things for themselves but don't specify that its not on the registry it shows up on it.

Sometimes people buy you gifts along with stuff for themselves and their stuff gets added onto your registry. That happened to me at Crate and Barrel.

if people buy stuff that's not on your registry and still give your registry # I think all the items appear as bought on the registry. Sounds like maybe they bought your gift and harmon items for themselves and checkout once...?

that's too freakin funny... BBB is weird, why wouldnt they just separate the stuff, it's like come onnnn lol we dont need to think we are getting things we dont want! lol
