Mine did--apparently he needed my best friend to go with him as he was sooo nervous he almost passed out -- yeah he is a cutie-- (sometimes)!!!!

Yes he did. I was wondering why he smelled like alcohol the day before we got engaged. It wa sbecause he was doing congratulatory shots w/ my Dad.

Yes - because he knew that I wanted him to & because my dad knows a diamond guy in the city...so he knew he'd get my ring through them.
When he called & asked my dad, my dad responded with, 'No, f&*k you'. Totally joking of course...but FH was very nervous - which is VERY unlike him...so by my dad cracking the joke - it put FH at ease.

Nope, he didn't say anything to anyone in our families. I was a total surprise!! My parents didn't seem to mind, though.

yup!!!...my parents are divorced so he asked both my mom and dad. my dad was putting stuff away in the fridge and dropped everything when fh asked

hahaha! no, he called my dad the day before he was going to propose and asked for his blessing. His logic was that he'd propose even if my dad said no! lol

I am so late to the thread. Anyway he proposed the first time, it was secretive (just the 2 of us). When he did it again last month, he did asked my mom before finally asking me at the airport later that night.
