I'm on Yasmin and I LOVE it! My gyno gave me a sample of YAZ and told me I should switch because I get my period for a full week on Yasmin and she said YAZ will make it much shorter- but I've also heard that for the first few months of YAZ you can get random breakthrough bleeding- so which is worse... bleeding for a week but knowing that it's coming... OR.... bleeding through your pants since you DONT know it's coming.... I decided to stick with Yasmin for now.... at least I don't have to worry 24/7 of some embarrassing disaster!!

i take orthotricyclin lo, and i'm pretty happy with it. i had some problems with it the first month, but since then no side effects.

That is the pill I really want to take (Yaz or Yasmine). I was researching it and found this huge thread of ppl saying how terrible they felt when they were on it. Suicidal etc. Im sure everyone reacts differently, but the thread was HUGE. Did yaz make you gain a lot of weight??
Im going to the doc next week, so I thought Id get your ideas first. Thanks!!!
No suicidal thoughts for me. I haven't really gained any weight. I feel fine with it and my periods are super light and short.

What pill do you take... and do you get any side effects? I've heard some make you get crazy mood swings, break out, gain weight, and increase bust size. HELP!!
I have tried a couple of different ones and the best one I have been on was Yasmin. No cramps, I lost weight on it and shorter periods. but really every pill has a different effect on everyone.

ortho tri cyclen..been on it for a about 2 years now, and before a 9 month pregnancy break, i was on it for about 4 years....no problems at all
fyi..i didnt get pregnant on it, i stopped it for around 3 months, then got pregnant

I liked Loestrin24 the best, I've taken Yasmin, FemconFE and was on the Patch. I was taken off the Patch because of the reports about it, Femcon is a chewable pill, i was on that for a couple of months but it gave me mood swings, i didn't feel like myself. then switched to Yasmin, which i didn't like. It didn't stop my period, I would be into the 3rd real pill and it would finally stop. Loestrin24 is great my period lasts for about 3 days. I've gained some weight from these but mostly in my bust lol. I didn't see one of my friends for a while and the next time i saw her the first thing out of her mouth was, 'Your boobs are huge!' i was like, 'Thanks?'

I have been on Yaz for about 6 months...my doc switched me from Yasmin. Yaz is okay...I am a little cranky and depressed sometimes but not suicidal and no breakout bleeding for me. Actually the first month with anything new is always hard but it gets better.

Im on Seasonale since I get migraines. It is awesome to only get my period 4x a year. I have had no side effects, although I may get the munchies 1-2 weeks before I am due.

Yasmin When I first started on it I definitely was very emotional for the first 2 or 3 months and I did gain some weight and boobs (which I was totally ok with). Took some of the weightoff after that, not that I needed too I'm actually under weight anyway.
But my body adjusted and everything is fine. I love it. (occasionally I do get headaches the day before I start a new pack)

Loestrin was the worst thing that ever happened to me. Everyone is different though, as you can see many girls love it.

ortho lo was the worst for me...i went off of it a few months after i started. I still haven't found one I like.....i am actually going back to the dr. soon

Me too! I love Seasonale. There haven't been any side effects yet and I have been on it for 3 years. You can't bet only getting your period 4 times a year.

Im on yasmin too and refuse to switch!! I was on a different pill before and i gained a ton of weight and it didnt make me get my period. My sister was on yasmin and they switched her to yaz and emotionally she is a basket case. I would stick with yasmin!!

loestrin fe has worked very well for me. i had side effects only for the first 3 mos and nothing crazy...just headachey and moody sometimes, spotting each month, etc. but once it regulated after 3-4 mos, i felt great. now my period is extremely light, less than 2 days basically, i dont even notice it, and no cramps (before i had severe cramps!!!), which is really nice. really barely any weight gain at all, if at all...and my boobs didnt get bigger or anything.

I also take orthotricyclen Lo....very very happy with it. i have been taking it for about 4 years now, no complaints.
