Birth Control Pill..

What pill do you take... and do you get any side effects? I've heard some make you get crazy mood swings, break out, gain weight, and increase bust size.
HELP!!

im on ortho tri cyclen, been on it for about 5 or 6 yrs. going to come off of it right after the wedding since ive been on it so long :)

I was on Yasmine for quite awhile. Then the dr switched me to Yaz and I only lasted maybe 6 months max. I was horrible on it. Hated life and just everything around me. I would snap at the drop of a dime....and yes...I went from a C to a D in those months. Since, I went back on Yasmine and I LOVE it. I never should have switched in the first place

I was on a bunch of different ones...loestrin, ovcon, ortho and I am on ortho lo now.
I had a BAD allergic reaction to Ovcon because of some of the fillers they put it in...Loestrin was great, insurance stopped covering it tho. I am on Ortho Lo now and it works great for the medical reason I am taking it, just it brought out alot of cysts (the doctor thinks they are cysts...) in my breasts (yea TMI I know...lol) and now I have to go for a bunch of different scans and sonograms to get them checked out. So that would be the only bad part about them...
Dont forget everyone reacts differently to any kind of medication so our experiences might be totally different from what you may have!!

I take Seasonique and I love it. I've been on the Patch and I loved it, but my GYN took me off. I was on the Nuva Ring and I hated it. It was always trying to come out of me....GROSS! I have no side effects with Seasonique. It's great.

loestrin fe has worked very well for me. i had side effects only for the first 3 mos and nothing crazy...just headachey and moody sometimes, spotting each month, etc. but once it regulated after 3-4 mos, i felt great. now my period is extremely light, less than 2 days basically, i dont even notice it, and no cramps (before i had severe cramps!!!), which is really nice. really barely any weight gain at all, if at all...and my boobs didnt get bigger or anything.

same for me...i take this and at first had side effects, but love it now

I think ortho tri cyclen lo is the absolute best...I had zero side effects while I was on it and I was on it for about two years

I'm on Lo Ovral and have been for years. I am very happy to say that I haven't had any side effects! However, like everyone said . . . everyone is different.

u really have to try them out and see what works best for u....honestly i think EVERYONE is completely different...I'm on Yasmin...i absolutely LOOOVE it(and this is Yasmin...not yaz - i've heard a lot of mixed reviews from girls who've switched over to yaz so i was like 'why am i gonna switch when i love what i'm on, and have heard mixed things about the other?' anyways..) . i had zero side effects, except for my cheeks breaking out a little bit but i control it with a good facial cleanser...other than that - no weight gain, no mood swings, WAAY better periods..and my boobs went up a whole cup size! BUT - like i said everyone is different. I have a very good friend that tried 4 different ones before she settled on the Nuva-Ring. I do know that Yasmin & Ortho tricyclin low both have a very low dosage of hormones, which is why yasmin probably worked for me. I'd talk to ur doctor, express ur concerns & see what they reccomend...don't be afraid to communicate with them about it - it's a big deal and u want it to work for u! good luck!

I just started the generic for Loestrin Fe....this is my 2nd month and it's making me really nauseous this month. Did either you have the same problem in the 1st couple of months?

I am on a generic I think of loestrin but I am not even sure -- its called Levora.

I have been on it for almost 6 years and never had any major side affects. Recently I have been getting really bad migraines and horrible fatigue but the doctor wants to see if it is my diet and lifestyle due to my job before making any switches.

I have been on yasmin for a few years and I have had no problems whatsoever. My doc had samples of Yaz, though, so I am on my first month of Yaz - and I have had no breakthrough bleeding, no side effects at all. I don't feel any different.

In Feb. though, when the free samples run out, I am thinking of going on Minera, the hormone-releasing IUD. I am terrible at remembering to take the pill, and as long as my insurance covers it, the Minera will be sooooo much cheaper as it's implanted once and can stay in for 5 years. I will probably have it removed in about 3, once we are ready to have kids.

yes a little bit. but just try your best to weather the storm of the first couple months. if after 3-4 mos youre still having side effects, talk to your doctor. they usually subside around that time though. good luck!

I took Orthotricyclen lo. My most major side effect was my pregnancy That aside, I really didn't like how it made me feel. I was much moodier than usual & it kind of ruined my sex drive. It also made my migraines worse.

i was on yasmin but went off it cus I think it gave me cellulite- but I still have cellulite 1.5 years after being off it, so maybe I was wrong and I inherited the cellulite from someone...

I'm on OrthoCept and have been for 4 years and don't have any side effects from it. My doc thinks they're going to discontinue it so I don't know what I'll be switched to. Before that I was on Alesse and loved that the best. I was switched off it because I started spotting

DRV0716----That was my one side effect, I feel like it ruined my sex drive. I was never sure if it was just me going through a lot at that time of my life (when I started taking it) or if it was just the pill. But it hasnt came back the same! eh, maybe I should talk to the doctor!
