Booked our church!

We booked our church tonight

Another big check off the list....2:30pm with reception at 7pm. We sat for about 2 hours with the monsignor.

Booked our church!

Congrats! Wow, 2 hours is a long time! We were there for about 30 minutes. He asked about our/our family history re: the church. Whether we were married before, etc. He explained to us what next steps are, etc. He asked some pretty bizarre questions that he said he 'had to.' Ex: whether we were physically/mentally capable of performing duties as husband and wife.

We were expecting him to ask how often we go to church and other questions like that, but nothing like that. I guess it depends on the priest though!

Congrats! Our priest said there was a lot of paperwork he has to fill out and lots of stuff he has to go over with use. He said he wants to do it in small increments so we were only there for about 30 minutes and then we have to go back in June.

Congrats!! Our priest asked me and FH questions separately. It was a bit awkward. I have to send some information about when I was baptized, etc. within 6 months of the wedding since I'm not a parishioner of the church. He also told us he wants to see us at mass since he's never seen us before... Oops! lol

Congrats on the check! Wow, 2 hours is a long time. I think our meeting was only maybe 30 minutes, which I was surprised about since neither of us were parishioners there before.

Thanks! He went over all of the requirements in detail. Explaining every step that needs to be done, why and even the history of some of the things. He gave us wedding advice, lol. How we don't have to spend a lot of money, or do everything everyone else wants us to do or traditionally expects. Basically, just to make it our day and what we want and not to stress out. Helped us pick out a good time for our ceremony...and broke down having a ceremony only vs. full mass. Then he told us he has a house in Jim Thorpe, PA and FH's parents do as well. So we chatted about that for some length of time. It was a good experience. I was nervous going in to speak with him but he made us feel very relaxed. There were no akward/personal questions.

We did that too. We were probably there for an hour. It was a little awkward since my FH and I live together. Boy did we get a lecture. haha. Congrats on the check!
