I'd like to book our Vegas getaway today. I was using Travel Tom to sort out the arrangements but he's so busy that it's been tough to get in touch with him. I'd like to make the arrangements on my own now. What are your suggestions for where to book through? Any sites that you guys like and use to book your getaways? TIA
Edited for update: OK, after all of that - NO MORE VEGAS! I realized for, how much it's going to cost me just to get there and stay there (not to mention food, gambling, entertainment, etc...) I decided to save that for a time when it makes more sense financially. instead, i'm taking him to Cancun for an all inclusive 4 night getaway. Thank you for all your help ladies. I'm going to take all the recommendations into consideration when we do finally get to Vegas!!

I heard great things about those too! I'm sooooo torn. but either way, i want to book it today so i can surprise FH w/ it on v-day!

i always use hotwire or expedia and get really good discounts on there... just make sure you kow what you want... and be open to other hotels because some are ridicilous and others are very good and honestly you are just 'passing out' there... but its totally up tp you
and MGM is great and in a good location!

i stayed at luxor last year and LOOOOVED it.. and when we got there we upgraded to a suite for just another $20 anight... and ther was four of us in the room so it was perfect!!!!

I like to use expedia or hotwire. They're pretty good for looking for hotels etc.

i like Jetblue, and they fly to Vegas, so i just booked the flight through Jetblue website, and did the hotel through the hotels website
not sure where you live on LI or in the city or whatnot. but make sure you dont fly out of mcauthor b/c they dont have direct flights. unless of course you like that sort of thing lol

I love Vegas! IMO, you get the best hotel deals booking directly through the hotel itself. Go to MGM's site and compare to other travel sites to make sure! I've gotten the best rates at Luxor and Excalibur through their own web sites, with extras and free upgrades. It eliminates the middle man.
Also, check into JetBlue from JFK! We paid a few extra dollars to fly them, but their flight schedules are great and you can fly directly. It makes a long flight much more comfortable too!
