Bouquet : to toss or not to toss?

Just wondering what everyone is planning on doing as far as bouquet/ garter....

we just did the bouquet toss - hate the idea of the garter toss, what if it ends up that a guy has to put it on on some one else's girlfriend? There are so many potential ackward situations. That was our reasoning for not doing it.

We did the bouquet toss (with a toss bouquet), no garter toss (although we did one at the after-party), and an anniversary dance.

DH and I are in our mid-20s and were among the first to be getting married, so there were lots of unmarried women and it didn't have the same stigma that it might if we were older and there were only 2-3 unmarried guests. Our friends enjoyed it.

I didn't want to do the whole garter thing in front of everyone and it can get embarrassing and awkward for people, so we didnt plan to do it. We only did it at the after party (up in a hotel room with our friends) on a whim, and it was a much different atmosphere -- plus it was caught on our video camera which was being passed around which was fun. Much more informal.

We did the anniv dance too because we knew there was a couple married 60+ years, and our frends who were married 2 weeks, so we wanted to bring attention to both couples. We just posed for a picture with the older couple, and asked them for advice.

our families are very out going so we did the bq and garter toss and i have to say it was a highlight for people IoI

we're doing the anniversary dance. im not a fan of all the hoopla to get the bo-k and garter toss going. especially if you dont have a lot of single people or sometimes they dont wanna get up..then it just looks silly IMO

well originally i was going to do the anniversary dance and then out of nowhere FH insisted we do the Boq and Garter toss... i didnt care either way so i guess we'll be doing that!

i did the bok toss but i did it a little differently

i waited until the end of the night when the limo had arrived to take DH & I to the hotel. then i had the DJ announce to all the guests to line up outside to see us off.

everyone did and i stood on the deck and threw my toss bok to the crowd below me. anyone who caught it kept it--didnt matter if they were a single lady or whatever.

then DH and I ran past everyone and all the guests were cheering & high fiving us as we climbed in the limo. it was the best exit ever!

I was on the fence about doing both tosses. I didn't think I would have a lot of people, guys and girls, to get up to catch them. Plus I figured people would think it's hokey. In the end we did it and I'm glad we did. It's something done at all weddings and I wanted to be a part of that. Plus I was excited for DH to see the 2 garters I was wearing! Just do it!!

we decided not to do it because we felt we would ahve to stop the dancing and the flow to have it done.

I've been back and worth with the bo-/garter toss myself. FH thinks we should and said it iwill be fun.
me I picture all my single friends that are waiting for a ring to turn it into a WWE death match..

I wasnt going to do it..I was going to do a anniversary dance...my friends are young and many arent married so a cple of the girls want me to do it..so I am lol

I'm tossing both because I think it's a lot of fun and really traditional. I couldn't imagine not doing it.

I'm doing both!!! We dont care what anyone thinks- it's our wedding and we both want it included lol It's all about having a good time

I did bok and garter toss. We had tons of young people at the wedding and we wanted to do something fun.

We are planning on doing both! We have a lot of single friends and surprisingly they are all looking foward to it!
